The Data and Equity Analyst role presents a unique opportunity for a candidate to join our thriving research team as we probe deeper into how our data can deliver insights to corporate management teams and our investor clients.

Your Mission Statement:

Put simply, we are looking for a data-savvy analyst to combine skills in analytics, modeling, and critical thinking to derive insights that discover value for investors and corporate management teams alike.

Your Core Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly and quarterly presentations to corporate management teams and investors regarding a company’s mobile presence and how the industry is changing
• Work directly with existing clients to help make sure they are approaching their research correctly and working with our data in the most productive way possible
• Deep research on industries and companies, including monitoring material news events related to companies under coverage
• Support other departments at Apptopia in understanding and using our data
• Build out case studies and correlation research on a quarterly basis that examines with which public equities our data correlate
• Combine our data with publicly available information to understand how our data relates to individual companies and their sectors
• Use our data and publicly available information to generate insights for investors and corporate management teams
• Distill investment theses and corporate insights into discrete, quantifiable, and actionable research

Expected Qualifications:

• 2+ years of work experience in the stock market/bond market (e.g., a risk analyst at an asset manager; trade operations analyst who wants more)
• Ability to partner with other teams and willingness to support internal customers (Sales and CS)
• Experience and skill in pulling and analyzing data with advanced data analysis tools and programming ability (SQL/Python/R)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Needs the ability to think creatively about data, come up with a hypothesis, test that hypothesis, analyze results, and present all of this in a transparent manner
• Needs to be able to work flexibly with a team, sometimes doing work on behalf of someone who is an equal
• Interest in diving deep into a sector and developing sector expertise
