What will I be doing?
We are seeking a Data Architect to join our Hilton Data team. This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual looking to grow their skills and experience in data architecture within a dynamic and collaborative environment. As a Data Architect, you will analyze and understand current data architectures and flows to inform broader requirements and solution designs.
More specifically, you will:
- Communicate findings and progress with your Data Architecture lead through compelling narratives that highlight the value propositions
- Escalate risks and issues during all phases of the project
- Collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams to understand data and share relevant conclusions
- Provide ideas and feedback on project architectures to ensure alignment with standard methodologies, established and reusable patterns, and anticipated outcomes for our partners
- Establish a perspective on data needs, designs, work breakdowns, and roadmaps that meet shared goals and demonstrate incremental value
- Assist in collecting requirements for new business projects and crafting requirements for where gaps exist based on your understanding of how things should work
- Document the existing technical landscape across the enterprise and legacy data artifacts to inform implications for new project architectures and analytical reporting

- Tech-savvy - confident working within various databases and sources to understand more about the data, how it connects, and how it's being used
- Solid communication skills - ability to adapt messaging for different functions and keep leads informed of your understandings and progress
- Curious - ability to continuously analyze how things are working and drive to always learn more
- Meticulous - ability to anticipate and get ahead of any major questions or issues that may come up during implementation or consumption
- Strong systems thinking - ability to understand how systems interact and impact each other and construct a broader picture of how all the pieces fit together
- At ease with ambiguity - ability to take an unknown situation and bring clarity to it
To fulfill this role optimally, the candidate should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:
- Knowledge of and/or experience with AWS, hybrid environments, and data platforms
- Two (2) years of specialized experience in Data
- Three (3) years of professional experience within Technology or a related field
It would be advantageous in this position for the candidate to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
- Bachelor's Degree, or Associate's Degree plus 6 years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 12 years of Technology related experience
- Five (5) years of professional experience within Technology or a related field
- Travel/hospitality industry experience
