AES Clean Energy combines AES’s strengths in renewables, energy storage, technology, and product innovation to build one of the largest and fastest growing clean energy businesses in the United States. We are looking for motivated individuals who share our passion for renewable energy and decarbonization.

AES Clean Energy’s New Product Development team plays an “entrepreneur-in-residence” role for the company—our mandate is to identify, develop, and launch new businesses and product lines that help our customers meet their energy and sustainability objectives. The New Product Development team launched AES’s “24/7 Carbon Free Energy” product with Google and is currently launching new businesses and products in the green hydrogen and fleet electrification spaces.

The AES Fleet Electrification team is developing and commercializing new solutions to help fleet operators navigate the transition to electric vehicles (EVs). We provide customers with an end-to-end solution comprising education, feasibility analysis, transition planning, implementation support, and ongoing management services. We are currently seeking a Customer Success Manager, Fleet Electrification to join our growing team. This is a multi-disciplinary position that combines customer success, product development, and technical analysis.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Identify key customer pain points and desired outcomes
  • Serve as primary point of contact for customers, advising them on financial and operational feasibility, charging infrastructure, incentives, service upgrades, and led charging strategies
  • Represent AES at industry conferences and stay up to date on fleet and charging technology advances and industry trends
  • Work closely with rest of product development organization to design, test, and refine software-based solutions to address customer pain points, deliver desired outcomes, and enable scale
  • As business grows, build out and handle customer success team to support broad customer base
  • Build and manage relationships with utility program managers, suppliers, business partners, and other key internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications:
  • Humility, self-awareness, and prioritization of team over self
  • Knowledge of EV industry, EV/EVSE incentives, electricity markets, and utilities
  • Comfort with uncertainty, ambiguity, and change
  • 5+ years of experience in customer success and/or product development in the clean energy, automotive, or related industries
  • Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high quality of deliverables
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Always looking for better ways to do things; never satisfied with the status quo
  • Strong analytical and modelling abilities
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Salesforce (or other CRM software)
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional, diverse team

Location and Travel
  • Willingness to travel, as needed (< 20% of the time)
