Customer Services Representative (Grant Funded)

Job Summary Under general supervision, is responsible for customer serviceactivities in a particular department, involving the handling ofrequests and/or complaints regarding City services. Working conditionsare primarily inside an office environment. Exercises no supervision. This position is a "grant funded" position, therefore unclassified and has no disciplinary appeal rights to the Municipal Civil Service Commission. This position is likewise subject to at-will employment status and can be terminated at any time for any reason. Work Location 3652 Bluemel Dr. Work Hours 7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday Essential Job Functions

• Provides information regarding city services, functions, attractions, transportation, schedules, etc.
• Inputs data and maintains databases.
• This position requires a valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License OR valid driver's license from another state with the ability to obtain a valid Texas Driver's License within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Preferred Qualifications
• Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.
• Ability to read a map and give detailed directions.
• May collect money using various payment methods.
• Ability to respond to inquiries, complaints, and requests.
• May greet tourists and visitors in person or by telephone and answers questions.
• Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required. Job Requirements

• May prepare badges and registration information.
• Compiles and prepares information and reports as requested.
• High School Diploma orGED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency).
• Ability to operate a computer keyboard and other basic office equipment.
• Applicants selected for employment with the City of San Antonio in this position must receive satisfactory results from pre-employment drug testing and background checks. If required for the position, a physical, motor vehicle record evaluation, and additional background checks may be conducted. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Ability to establish and maintain good public relations with the general public and City staff.
• Answers telephone, takes information, refers calls to proper departments.
• Ability to operate a telephone and other basic office equipment.
• Knowledge with The Workforce Information System of Texas (TWIST) Database.
• One (1) year of experience dealing with the public servicing client/customer requests.
• Skill in utilizing a personal computer and associated software programs.
• Knowledge in Child Care program.
