Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned and experienced professional to join our company as a Section Manager within our organization. In this client-facing role, you will lead and mentor a team of Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Scrum Masters who are responsible for driving the successful delivery of high-quality software products and managing client relationships. Your expertise in Agile methodologies, product management, leadership, and client engagement will be crucial in shaping our software development processes and ensuring client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing and motivating cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, delivering exceptional results, and effectively communicating with clients.
Responsibilities include:
  • Act as a mentor for Scrum Masters to develop coaching skills to support ongoing momentum for change.
  • Understand end to end processes to coach teams/individuals/clients on how to align requests to increase efficiency for development teams.
  • Understand organizational strategy and ensure Agile practices are in alignment to support the organization.
  • Drive improvement through examples and practical experience, taught in a non-academic delivery style that encourages the adoption of Agile non-technical and technical practices, improving execution, communication and concurrently building group skills and capabilities.
  • Lead Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Business Analysts toward improving Agile practices and metrics that support delivery of high-quality software and establish greater transparency.
  • Build healthy Agile practices and drives process improvements to improve the effectiveness of business and Enterprise Software Solutions, focusing on strategic initiatives by facilitating changes to Agile practices and maturity across ANL to further enable the team to deliver with efficiency.
  • Help define the overall vision/strategy to improve Agility at Argonne.
Position Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and product management methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven experience in product management, software development, or a related role, with a focus on Agile methodologies.
  • Previous experience managing a team of Product Owners or similar roles, demonstrating strong leadership and mentorship abilities. 10+ years of experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, influence key stakeholders, and engage with clients.
  • Experience working in a software development environment, preferably with an understanding of modern software development technologies and practices.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Agile Certified Product Manager (ACPM) are a plus.
