Customer Care Specialist (Part-Time)

The Customer Care Specialist is responsible for providing the highest level of customer service to all members and customers. This position serves as the first point of contact for inquiries via telephone, email, or in person and performs a wide variety of business processes and tasks.

This is a 20-hour Monday - Thursday part-time, non-exempt position. This position is remote, and will occasionally be asked to report on-site to the Glen Carbon office to provide backup support for the Council shop and to attend staff meetings. Eligible for paid holidays, vacation days, personal time, and sick days.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Collaborate with other departments as needed.
• Responsible for closing cases in 6.5 business hours or less, following established processes and instructions.
• Log all interactions in Salesforce
• Receive incoming telephone calls/requests and emails
• Responsible for maintaining camp reservations in the current reservation system.
• Follow established procedures for accepting money, processing financial transactions, taking refund requests, and updating all giving records.
• Engage in problem-solving and providing solutions, using various online platforms, written instructions, and publications as well as our Council website
• Input program opportunities and monitor registration in the gsEvents system.
• Provide Girl Scout shop back-up as requested.
• Ensure Girl Scouting is open to all girls and adults by delivering the Girl Scouts message of pluralism and diversity to members of the council.
• Enter completed paper registrations accurately and efficiently while ensuring the integrity of the data is maintained.
• Apply Council-approved email templates and recommend the creation of additional templates as necessary.
• Responsible for data integrity and data entry.
• Remain current and informed regarding upcoming events by reading and reviewing the Council calendar and publications.
• Set reasonable customer satisfaction goals and work with the team to meet them on a consistent basis.
• Build sustainable relationships of trust through open and interactive communication

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products and databases.
• Must have a clean workspace in home environment, away from noise and distractions.
• Willingness to perform tasks that involve the ability to exert light physical effort may include lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling objects and materials of moderate weight (20-25 pounds).
• Superior organizational skills, with the ability to carry out a variety of responsibilities with shifting priorities.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work remotely with efficiency and limited supervision.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years’ demonstrated work experience in customer service.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to become a member of Girl Scouts of the USA.
• Understanding and acceptance of the Girl Scout promise, law, beliefs, and principles.
• Demonstrated ability and proficiency to perform data entry with extreme accuracy.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and insurance.
• Minimum of two years’ work experience in a professional office environment.
