What You Get To Do


The Corporate VP, Retail will oversee, direct, and be responsible for all growth strategies, initiative implementations, and operations for Retail Division including: Retail product development, retail planning and allocation, in-park retail locations, and visual merchandising for all Sea World Parks and Entertainment (SEAS) locations. You will:


  • Create an inspiring, collaborative, innovative and results-orientated environment fostering job satisfaction, retention, and talent development for direct and indirect team.
  • Conceptualize, advocate, and implement creative solutions that positive impact the business while elevating the brand and enhances the guest experience.
  • Direct planning and allocation team in managing seasonal sales, margin plans, and inventory budgets by category that optimize sales and margins.
  • Direct retail product development team to develop assortments that support and anticipate the needs of the customer and the financial objectives of the retail division.
  • Direct business strategies and processes associated with retail product design, vendor relations, retail store operations, and compliance to improve sales, profit, turns, manage risk, cost management and organizational efficiencies across all retail divisions.
  • Ensure pricing, promotional strategies, and marketing support the objective of Retail and Ancillary Revenue growth initiatives.


What It Takes To Succeed


  • Exceptional understanding of retail financial measurements including sales, gross margin, cost of goods, inventory turn, cost management and how to materially impact them.
  • Ability to shift priorities and re-plan when business needs change.
  • Advanced understanding of retail store design, visual merchandising, assortment planning, and product development and their impacts on profitability.
  • Ability to interface and effectively present to all levels in the organization.
  • Travel required.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and trends.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Seasoned professional who can negotiate the challenges of a large corporate environment.
  • Ability to identify and curate relevant data to draw inferences with reference to impact ancillary revenue areas.
  • Ability to facilitate discussions and drive toward quick decisions/alignment.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience leading a multi-site retail organization in theme parks, specialty stores, high-profile retail organization or consumer products industry with ownership of product design and retail planning and allocation.
  • Advanced experience in Power Point, Word, Excel, Open-to-Buy.
  • Exhibits high energy, strategic thinking, collaboration, direct communication and results orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities and solve problems pro-actively.
  • Works well in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
