Corporate Marketing Communications Fellowship

Program: Communications

Reporting to: SVP of Communications

Full-Time, Exempt

Year-long Fellowship

Annual Salary: $64,790 (plus full-time benefits package)

Location: Remote/Hybrid (New York, NY)


Robert F. Kennedy (RFK) Human Rights Communication department seeks a Corporate Marketing Communications Fellow for an immersive writing and marketing cross-platform content creation opportunity to champion awareness building for the organizations’ RFK Compass Investors and Workplace Dignity programs in the global business community. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, self-starter with an eye for detail, strong organizational skills, as well as a knack for making complex subjects interesting and relatable. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career or recent graduate that is interested in developing a career within the marketing communications space with a focus on purpose-driven businesses and DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility).

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Communications team’s lead at Compass Investor conferences and events where responsibilities would includes attending all conference sessions; creating daily event recap emails for attendees highlighting key themes, speaker quotes photos, and pertinent event updates; and capturing content to be used on RFKHR.org and in future event marketing efforts.
  • Flag industry best practices and keep tabs on industry-driven conversations relating to the work of these programs to incorporate into content creation.
  • Oversee the development of RFK Compass Investors and Workplace Dignity sections of RFKHR.org into robust destinations for global business leaders.
  • Lead cross-channel content creation efforts for the RFK Compass Investors’ and RFK Workplace Dignity program.
  • Assist with social media content management for each program, with a specific focus on creating content for and cultivating an audience on LinkedIn.

  • Attention to detail, you’re able to scope out errors and willing to fix mistakes;
  • Ability to work with C-suite executives in finance, non-profit and/or philanthropy
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and digital systems similar to Airtable and Mailchimp;
  • Awareness and interest in current events and issues relating to human rights;
  • Strong writing, editing, research, and fact checking skills;
  • Innovative thinking, willingness to voice your opinions, and a strong work ethic are essential;
  • Understanding of business, finance and private capital markets industry information and having the ability to translate it into clear, concise and compelling content
  • Flexible, patient, and ability to stay gracious under pressure;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • At least one year of experience within marketing, communications or journalism with an interest in business and/or finance/investor engagement
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information;


Preferred but not required qualifications:

  • Journalism experience such as working with a college/local newspaper, website or blog;
  • Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce is a plus but not required.


Availability and Compensation:

  • The annual base salary for this role is $64,790 plus full-time employee benefits;
  • This is a one-year full-time fellowship (37.5 hours per week) starting Summer 2023 until Summer 2024.
