This attorney will work closely with the General Counsel, the leadership of the Dover Companies, and cross-functionally with colleagues across departments and with third-party professionals. This role will involve extensive review of legal documents and an understanding of government affairs, health regulations, real estate, and corporate law to deliver sound, timely, and actionable legal advice to our team members.

This full-time position is in Clayton, Missouri and requires limited travel.

As a Corporate Counsel, you will impact the lives of our residents by

  • Reviewing legal documents and applicable regulations.
  • Driving company initiatives to achieve team goals, drive efficiencies, and better serve the evolving needs of the business and the continued growth of the Dover Companies.
  • Coordinating with third-party professionals and governmental entities.
  • Case management, including management of outside counsel, working with outside counsel on setting and managing litigation budgets, preparing pleadings, briefs and other filings, developing, and implementing case and settlement strategy, managing discovery, and preparing matters for trial.
  • Advising internal business executives and team members on legal and business risks associated with senior living, human resources, real estate, and construction law.
  • Partnering with colleagues and business leaders to align legal strategy with business goals and objectives.

To become a Corporate Counsel, you will need –

  • At least 3-4 years of experience handling complex litigation.
  • A desire to work in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment.
  • J.D. from an ABA-approved law school, and an active member in good standing of the Missouri Bar.
  • Exceptional legal writing skills, including drafting and editing complex legal arguments, and outstanding attention to detail.
