POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Coordinator provides Impact and Learning guidance and support for internal program teams to develop and implement impact and learning systems for client portfolios. As a member of a cross-functional department, the Coordinator will work across a variety of client portfolios covering a wide-range of project types, sectors, and geographies, and must be able to quickly get up to speed on new subject matter areas.
Working closely with the I&L Senior Manager, the Coordinator will have the opportunity to build their social impact evaluation and project management skills through exposure to and management of a variety of impact evaluation activities. In addition to overall programmatic activities, the Coordinator will also support department administration tasks (knowledge management, resource development), training staff on I&L skills, and other internal department initiatives. The Coordinator may assist in the Senior Manager in business development and thought leadership initiatives as needed.
The I&L team is small and must be responsive to program teams and client needs. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, take initiative in completing assignments, and provide high-quality impact and learning support independently with a close attention to detail. Priority skills include: the ability to communicate clearly and professionally (verbally and in writing), an innovative mindset, detail-orientation, and time management, all combined with high sense of flexibility.
This role is open to both remote US-based candidates and candidates in the DC area.
KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Other duties as assigned.
- Contribute to the development of impact evaluation methodologies for proposals as needed.
- Support Senior I&L Manager in management and oversight of Qualtrics survey platform, including reviewing surveys, troubleshooting technical issues, managing advanced processes, and ensuring/enforcing data management and quality standards.
- Assist with knowledge management of I&L department through codifying and documenting processes and tools, building I&L resources for program staff, and managing and organizing I&L SharePoint files.
- Develop data visualizations for use in program reports, business development, social media, and other materials.
- Conduct research into social impact industry trends, tools, methodologies, and best practices to support development of new I&L tools, resources, and processes to better meet client and community needs.
- Support project management of I&L-led initiatives, including management of workplans, meeting facilitation, and interdepartmental coordination.
- Assist I&L Senior Manager with organizational capacity building on I&L skills, including through development of I&L trainings for organization.
- Collaborate with internal and external program teams to undertake impact measurement of social impact programs, including developing methodologies, producing program-specific impact plans (theory of change/logframes and indicator selection), designing research tools, data collection, cleaning/managing/analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, and preparing impact reports.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to work in a virtual environment
- US Citizen or Permanent US employment authorization required
- Ability to conduct basic data cleaning/analysis in Excel
- Demonstrated initiative, innovation, and ability to work independently and as a member of a team to coordinate and/or lead the efforts to effectively meet program/client needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in international relations, economic development, monitoring and evaluation, data science, or related fields
- Knowledge of Qualtrics (or similar survey platform)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage diverse activities, meet competing deadlines, and have flexibility in changing situations
- Experience developing effective, accurate, and compelling data visualizations
- 1-2 years of professional experience, including at least 6 months of experience/relevant coursework in monitoring and evaluation, social impact assessment, and/or quantitative/qualitative research methods and analysis
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Desirable
- Experience with SPSS, R, Stata, or similar statistical packages
- Experience in training and capacity building
- Experience with Salesforce
- Proficiency in a language other than English (preferably Spanish or Portuguese)
- Experience with NVivo, Dedoose, or similar qualitative analysis software
- Experience in a cross-cultural/international context
