Job Description
The expected salary range for this position is $25.93 - $32.41. Employees in specific high cost of labor locations in the United States (such as San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA) may qualify for a geographic differential. Compassion's Fellowship program is a 9-month opportunity for recent graduates and early career professionals to join innovative teams at Compassion in working on new and exciting projects in the organization. Fellows are entry-level contributors who will be developed to take the lead on future projects. Each fellow is paired with a mentor who will offer them 1:1 coaching throughout this fellowship. They will also participate in various professional development opportunities including Q&A meetings with innovative thought-leaders at Compassion and a conference in Washington. Dates for the fellowship are Sept. 4, 2023 - May 31, 2024. Must be able to travel to Washington state October 6-8, 2023.


The Impact Research Specialist will participate as a part of a collaborative international team to assist in advancing organizational knowledge and programmatic effectiveness. This specialist will provide general support for program effectiveness research studies to inform Compassion's child development programs, leadership decision-making and marketing platforms.


PLEASE NOTE: This is a remote, US-based position.


What will you do?


  • Assist in communications with other Compassion departments and individuals who collect information and data (e.g., marketing, auditing and quality assurance, business intelligence, and management) in order to minimize duplication of effort.
  • Act as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commit to and prioritize child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abide by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Report any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately support responses to incidents if they occur.
  • Support new and on-going advanced quantitative research studies on a variety of topics as assigned, using appropriate and rigorous approaches to generate reliable, timely and meaningful information to stakeholders. Includes contributing to stakeholder engagement, development of research questions, literature reviews and country-level contextualization, sample and participant selection, quantitative methodology development, and report writing.
  • Inform program managers, field office staff, and leadership on relevant programmatic issues when requested and through contribution to multi-departmental project, creative thinking and analysis teams.
  • Uphold and engage in Compassion’s core Cultural Behaviors.
  • Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintain a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully uphold Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
  • Assist in the presentation of research results to different audiences as appropriate.


What do you bring?


  • Equivalent education, training and/or certification may be substituted for experience and education shown above
  • Experience in research and quantitative methods preferred.
  • Master's Degree (preferred) in data analytics, economics, econometrics, statistics, applied psychology, international economics, international development or other related field (e.g., health, education, mental health, human development) with major components that include research methods, at least two semesters of econometrics or advanced statistics, and impact evaluations.
