The Primary Functions Of The Group Include, But Are Not Limited To


Morgan Stanley's Compensation Planning & Analysis team is seeking a HR professional with 3-5 years of compensation and/or financial reporting-related experience.


  • Liaise with the Financial Planning & Analysis teams to facilitate compensation expense forecasting and reporting for firm senior management
  • Must have superior attention to detail
  • Interest in learning new systems and technologies
  • Preparation of other ad hoc compensation related modelling and analytics to create senior management exhibits & presentations, often central to making critical business decisions
  • Approaches work with mindset to continuously improve and streamline processes
  • Enjoy high-volume, fast-paced, and dynamic environment
  • Self-starter with the ability to proactively seek out information as needed and a proclivity to approach projects with interest in learning new concepts and building on institutional knowledge
  • 3+ years professional related work experience; prior experience in financial analysis/reporting or compensation strongly preferred
  • Compensation expense planning/forecasting
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and exposure to Microsoft Access preferred
  • CCAR (Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review) regulatory process that is run on a quarterly basis, including refreshing inputs in the expense model, reviewing results, and recording output in the finance reporting system.
  • Ability to develop analytics from multiple streams of data, interpret & analyze trends, develop meaningful story/recommendation and communicate the information in a logical concise way
  • Strong process and project-management skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, re-prioritize as needed and problem-solve autonomously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey ideas clearly & concisely
  • Strong client focus and team player
  • Must have ability to manage projects in addition to daily responsibilities, ensuring accurate delivery of product to senior management and external stakeholders
  • Manage deferral structures in partnership with the Executive Pay Design team, seeking to ensure new plans are calculating correctly in the compensation system, as well as working with the Rewards & Analytics teams to review accuracy of all deferrals in the monthly accrual process.
  • Collaboration with various partners, including Finance, Payroll, Executive Compensation, and Business-specific and firmwide Compensation Teams


Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $135,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
