Hi, we’re Strider!

We are founded by a team of humans who have worked within entertainment and games for decades, and we have some thoughts. During our time within these worlds, we’ve come to realize the creative process is broken. This has sparked a desire to bring the love of the story-telling process back to the communities who love them.

To harness the creative power of communities to be productive together, with new, transparent ways of getting everybody compensated for their efforts.

Strider was born from our desire to make collaborative storytelling easier, more fun, and super social. We want to provide communities with the tools they need to tell stories and build worlds together.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a preface, we understand that applying to any role is a bit scary. From here onwards, read knowing that this is ideally what we want but what we are seeking is more than just a list.

We are currently seeking a vibrant and passionate Community Manager to join our team! This role is unique because the ideal candidate is someone who enjoys interacting with either their own and/or interest-based communities, through content creation. Essentially, if anyone has ever said you were a “Meme Lord”, you are what we are looking for.

Partnering with our marketing team, you will be a strong voice in helping us assess the best content, timing, and cadence for all social content posts. This will truly be a team effort so though everything below is a lot, we will be working on this together. Yay! Go Team Go! :)

* This position will start out as TEMP, with the potential for conversion to full-time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own community activations – Discord AMAs, Twitter Spaces, contests, etc – to drive engagement and secure, organize, and manage events to support our product team.
• Proactively identify and engage with key influencers, industry experts, and potential brand advocates to expand our reach and strengthen our community.
• Assist with influencer partnerships, content approvals, and performance tracking.
• Craft clear, accurate, on-brand, and engaging responses to community comments and questions that drive the conversation.
• Work with our growing community day-to-day across Discord, Twitter, Instagram, Tiktok, and other channels and activate existing audiences, drive new users, and monitor community sentiment.
• Work closely with the Lead Producer to create and manage content calendars to organize marketing output like community calls, blog posts, tutorials, Twitter threads, and more.
• Work closely with the Marketing team to conceptualize, create, release, and promote on-brand, shareable content and curate user-generated content (UGC) for our social media platforms.
• Contribute key metrics and OKRs/ KPIs to track the effectiveness of our Community.

QUALIFICATIONS

If you have some or all of the following, please apply!

• Ability to identify, track, and report on relevant community KPIs.
• Bonus points if you’ve been active in developer, webcomic, games, and anime or manga communities.
• Understanding of new tools that improve production efficiency and creativity.
• Desire to unleash all your creativity, positivity, and unique perspective daily.
• You have 1+ years of experience in a similar role managing several social media accounts (ex. Tiktok, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook) with over 5k followers.
• Ability to work autonomously, while setting agendas, and prioritizing work with minimal input.
• You have a proven track record of growing and retaining social audiences and have in-depth knowledge of social networks’ best practices and trends.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English, any additional language is a plus.
• Ability to develop creative, engaging, and original content.
• A passion for games or other interactive experiences and entertainment (movies, games, music).
• You have successfully graduated from university and/or have gained relevant work experience in Marketing, Community Management, Content Creation, or a similar function.
• Interpersonal effectiveness and ability to manage both positive and critical feedback professionally.
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems and manage conflict.
• Proficient in image manipulation and layout tools like Photoshop, Canva, or similar.
• Proficient in video editing tools like Premiere, Final Cut, iMovie, or similar.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience using any industry standard bots and moderator tools on Discord like MEE6, Dyno, Wick bot, etc.
• A love for Comics, Webcomics, Manga, etc.
• A deep passion for social platforms and a knack for digital storytelling.
• A desire to work within a creative, collaborative, and data-driven team environment.
• A natural talent for writing captivating copy that resonates with a wide audience.
• An understanding of the Generative AI landscape and tooling for creating of social content.
• An interest in genAI technologies.

$18 - $30 an hour

The above hourly rate only captures the approximate market rates within the USA. The final hourly rate will consider additional factors such as the location of work (candidates outside of the USA are welcome), living costs, and of course, the interview itself.
