We are founded by a team of humans who have worked within entertainment and games for decades, and we have some thoughts. During our time within these worlds, we’ve come to realize the creative process is broken. This has sparked a desire to bring the love of the story-telling process back to the communities who love them.

Strider was born from our desire to make collaborative storytelling easier, more fun, and super social. We want to provide communities with the tools they need to tell stories and build worlds together.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are searching for a UI Designer (TEMP) to join our team! In this role, you'll be collaborating closely with our Director of Experience and our dedicated product development team to craft engaging moments of delight for our users. As a part of our design team of two, you'll have ample opportunities for mentorship and professional growth. Moreover, your work will have a huge impact on our product experience.

*The duration of this role is projected to be 6 months. The length is subject to change.

RESPONSIBILITIES | As a UI Designer, you will:

• Work closely with engineering to implement your visuals in the product and balance pixel-perfect design alignment with speed. We’re a design & engineering team who aims high, but knows when to move forward (we live and breathe the 80/20 rule).
• Create moments of delight for our users through your visual deliverables and animations. We are in the midst of developing our brand and we need you to pull these visuals into our product to make the Strider tone & voice shine throughout the platform.
• Produce high-quality work and prototype your deliverables using Figma and/or other tools such as Adobe, Lottie-JS, Flinto, Framer, or any other library like animate.style or three-js. Whatever works for you! We will provide the tools you need to support your design process.
• Contribute to design leadership decisions such as roadmaps and the future direction of Strider Design. You’ll keep us in the know when it comes to great new design tools, chime in if you see any process improvements that could be made, and in general keep us in tune with the cultural zeitgeist of product design at large.
• Take ownership of our shared Figma file and transform it into a comprehensive design system. We have been working quickly to invent a 1.0 mobile web experience in an emerging field, which means our design file management needs a good tune-up.

QUALIFICATIONS | You may be a good fit if:

• You have at least 2+ years of product design experience and a track record of shipping product visuals from zero to one. Bonus: you’ve worked in ambiguous startup environments before or remote-only environments.
• An online portfolio so we can see your latest and greatest work. :)
• You understand file optimization on the web and are able to work across multiple device dimensions. You can sweat the details when it comes to the best output format for all types of online media, and work to ensure our file sizes remain small yet still appear high quality.
• You enjoy the remote work lifestyle and are comfortable communicating when you will and won’t be available. Our team is based all around the world and we manage timely design delivery across many timezones. This sometimes translates to being creative when it comes to gathering feedback and ensuring you get everything you need from the team in order to deliver on your milestones.
• You’ve experienced what it’s like to have ownership of a design system in Figma, whether creating one from scratch or inheriting an existing system. You know your way around auto-layouts, components, and frames, and can help turn our Figma into a living, breathing design system.
• You're a creator at heart equipped with a versatile design process to get you from any problem space to high-fidelity design (rapid prototyping, sketching a problem out, trying new tools, facilitating a design sprint—whatever will get you there!)

$35 - $50 an hour

The above hourly rate only captures the approximate market rates within the USA. The final hourly rate will consider additional factors such as the location of work (candidates outside of the USA are welcome), living costs, and of course, the interview itself.
