About The Job


Mad Mushroom is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Communications Manager to join our publishing organization. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies that inform, engage, and persuade our target audiences across various channels. With a keen understanding of the gaming industry, you will craft compelling narratives that resonate with media, players, and stakeholders, securing positive brand coverage and sentiment. You will build and maintain relationships with key media outlets, influencers, and content creators, ensuring extensive coverage and brand promotion. Additionally, you will manage crisis communications, align messaging across all channels, and respond to customer inquiries promptly. Your expertise in organizing and executing events, creating social media campaigns, fostering player engagement, and identifying and partnering with influencers will be crucial in driving brand awareness, player retention, and revenue growth. This role requires a proactive and adaptable individual with exceptional communication skills, strategic thinking, and a passion for the gaming community.


Responsibilities


  • Identify and partner with influencers, content creators, and streamers for brand promotion.
  • Organize and execute events, including press tours, influencer events, trade shows, community events (such as tournaments and livestreams), to promote the brand, products, and keep players engaged.
  • Develop and execute communication strategies to engage target audiences through various channels.
  • Create and manage a knowledge base or FAQ to provide instant help to players and reduce support costs.
  • Create and implement social media campaigns to engage the gaming community and build brand awareness.
  • Execute influencer marketing campaigns, monitor performance, and maintain relationships for ongoing engagement.
  • Collect and analyze player feedback to provide actionable insights to the development team.
  • Manage crisis communication plans and address negative publicity and customer complaints.
  • Manage social media activities, including post creation, scheduling, monitoring, and user engagement.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
  • Write and distribute press releases, pitches, and other communications to media and influencers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, influencers, and content creators for coverage and brand promotion.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with the player community, acting as a liaison between players and the development team.
  • Develop social media strategies aligned with marketing goals and objectives.
  • Align messaging across all channels and respond to customer inquiries and comments promptly.


Requirements


  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with media outlets, influencers, content creators, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the gaming industry, preferably in video game publishing or development.
  • Proficiency in crisis communication management and the ability to respond effectively to negative publicity or customer complaints.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable, with a passion for the gaming industry and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and adapt messaging for different audiences and channels.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, analytics, and trends, with the ability to create and optimize engaging social media campaigns.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, Relations, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of the gaming landscape, industry trends, and player behavior.
  • Highly organized with excellent project management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and executing communication strategies across various platforms, including media relations, social media, and influencer marketing.
  • Proficiency in using communication tools and software, including social media management platforms, PR software, and analytics tools.
  • Experience in community management, including engaging with players, collecting, and analyzing feedback, and organizing community events.
  • Proven track record in organizing and executing successful events, such as press tours, influencer events, and trade shows.
  • Familiarity with content creation, influencer partnerships, and measuring campaign performance and ROI.
