Cloud Financial Analyst (Hybrid)

• At Securian Financial Group the internal position title is Infrastructure Analyst.*Securian is looking for a Cloud Financial Analyst to support the growth of Cloud Financial Management as part of our Cloud Transformation. Cloud Financial Management (CFM) is a discipline focused on transforming the way technology costs are managed by enabling teams to make more informed decisions about their cloud spend. Within the Cloud Center of Excellence, the FinOps team is responsible for setting the direction of CFM and financial accountability for Securian’s cloud platforms. The FinOps team works to effectively managed the variability of cloud spend and ensure we are optimizing our resources to encourage innovation and deliver the most value for the business.

Securian’s Enterprise Technology organization is in progress with establishing Cloud as the predominant technology platform, changing the way we deliver technology, services, and value to the organization and our business. Maturing Cloud Financial Management continues to be a key pillar for the overall success of the Cloud Transformation.

What you would do in this job:

Provide technical analysis of cloud spend per account/team/environment to understand trends, to inform budget planning and business decisions about technology spendCreate cost estimates for applications running in the cloud, in partnership with technology owners and engineersIdentify and recommend potential cost optimization opportunities and partner with engineers to addressProvide financial oversight and management of cloud spend across Securian’s technology teamsPerform FinOps activities related to managing cloud costs including cost anomaly analysis, cloud cost management solution administration and supporting AWS Account Owners to track and align to their budgetsEnsure alignment across technology, finance and business teams for activities related to Cloud Financial Management, including tagging, guardrails, best practices, and requirementsDevelop documentation, reports, and communication for technology, finance, and business teams to understand how to manage their cloud costsAble to take abstract requirements and execute, refining along the wayDevelop and maintain Show Back and Charge Back mappings through code for cloud costsCreate communications and reports for ET & EDNA leadership on cloud costs

Securian Financial believes in hybrid work as an integral part of our culture. Associates get the benefit of working both virtually and in our offices. If you’re in a commutable distance (90 minutes) you’ll join us 2-3 days each week in our offices to collaborate and build relationships. Our policy allows flexibility for the reality of business and personal schedules. When working in our offices at least two days per week isn’t feasible (vacations, illness, travel, etc.), an eight day per month standard is an option. **This position will be in a hybrid working arrangement.**

Physical job requirements:

Ability to work at least 40 hours per week.Ability to utilize keyboard, mouse and computer for up to 8 hours per day.Ability to utilize telephone for approximately 1-4 hours per day.Ability to perform simple grasping including handwriting, paper manipulation, sorting, folding, etc. periodically throughout entire workday.
