Job Description
The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) is the top professional women's soccer league in the USA, with 12 teams and 300+ of the best soccer players globally. In just its 10th season, the league continues to grow exponentially: In 2022, the NWSL shattered all-time fan attendance records, more than two dozen markets expressed demand for expansion teams, valuations of teams multiplied by double digits, several new C-suite executives were hired, and the league continues to receive unprecedented interest from sponsors and media partners alike. Reporting directly to the Sr. Director of Operations, the Operations Manager assists with all matters related to the league's operations and competition. Primary Responsibilities: Manage the league's Video Review program. Manage weekly VAR recap calls with all the entities involved with Video Review. Serve as the main point of contact for the clubs for all inquiries related to VAR operations. Manage communication with LTR and post-match reports. Setup slack channels and ensure all the appropriate contacts are included in the necessary slack channels on a weekly basis as well as monitor the channels. Track and record all technology issues throughout the season. Track and record all checks and reviews, including timing. Communicate with all stakeholders on game days any significant events as required. Help facilitate the development and enforcement of team compliance with the league's VAR, operations, competition and referee policies and procedures. Monitor each teams' on-field environment to ensure product quality and compliance with league policies. Complete pre-season and in-season site visits to ensure facilities and processes meet or exceed league standards. Assist in the execution of league events (NWSL Draft and NWSL Championship). Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required. 2+ years of progressive experience in sports administration. Ability to multitask and execute without close supervision. Excellent organizational and project management skills Ability to maintain strong 'customer service' and follow-up with all team inquiries. Ability to deliver high quality work and execute under pressure/deadlines. Able and willing to travel up to 30%. Able and willing to work non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends and holidays. Knowledge of the sport of soccer. Pursues lifelong development and learning. Communicates in a direct, open and honest manner. Accountable for actions/decisions and does not make excuses. Annual Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 annually Location: NY,NY or Chicago, IL NWSL salaries are contingent upon candidates' qualifications, functional business needs, and market financials.
