About Us
Metropolis Collectibles is the leading global collectibles business with a strong online and convention presence and is looking for an Operations Manager to join our team. Our company is the world's premier online auctioneer of vintage comic books, original comic art, and pop culture memorabilia and holds four Guinness World Records for selling the most valuable comic.
About the Role
This is a Full-Time position that reports to and works closely with our COO and is based in our Manhattan (NYC) office. This is an opportunity to be a member of our company’s small and tight knit leadership team. You'll take ownership of managing and directing the staff and overseeing inventory management, order fulfillment and customer service.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Assist COO in streamlining daily operations
- Help to maintain employee policies and internal documentation
- Assist in bookkeeping or accounting workflows
- Liaise with external service providers (legal, accounting, infrastructure vendors etc.)
- Review legal docs and tax paperwork
- Identify and implement policies or workflows that improve company's operating efficiency
- Handle day-to-day tasks in operations, HR, accounting, and IT
- Create dashboards and reporting to share operational KPIs with other team members
- Facilitate hiring and staff onboarding
- Manage corporate and operational resources (legal docs, commercial agreements, access permissions, office assets)
Skills and Experience
- Data-driven (including Excel and data analysis skills) to prioritize opportunities and evaluate the performance of campaigns
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent multitasking skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, product, and sales
- BA / BS degree or equivalent practical experience
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent prioritization skills and can roll up their sleeves and get things done from start to finish
- Desire to be accountable for hitting marketing performance targets and KPIs
- 5+ years or relevant experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills
