Cisco Network Engineer - Remote

What is my impact?

The Network Engineer plans, designs, and implements network systems. Responsible for providing consultation and execution of network design and administration. Reviews and assesses user needs and trends, conducts research and recommends network technology solutions. Accountable for all aspects of network systems design, implementation, maintenance, evaluation, documentation and repair activities.

What are my Key Responsibilities:

• Provides consultation to customers throughout the company regarding network systems.
• Monitors and performs maintenance of network systems.
• Responsible for resolving complex network and system problems (e.g., protocol analysis, system errors, interoperability problems), occasionally during on call rotation and amongst the team and/or support
• Leads or participates on projects and initiatives related to network systems design and administration.
• Handles complex, non-routine and escalated network-related tickets and tasks, interfacing with other IT teams and business units to troubleshoot and resolve issues related network infrastructure
• Gathers and analyzes business requirements to design technology solutions that will meet business needs which may include changing or modifying existing systems or researching vendor solutions.
• Responsible for implementation and deployment of technology design including troubleshooting and resolving issues, developing procedures and documentation.
• Prepares reports and analyzes trends, issues and metrics related to network performance and recommends courses of action.

What is Required:

• 4+ years’ experience in Network systems design and administration
• Experience working with network management tools ( ie ASDM, LiveAction, Viavi Observer, Panorama)
• Expert level understanding of BGP ( Border Gateway protocol)
• Experience with CISCO NEXUS and Catalyst switches
• High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy.
• Experience working with change management processes
• Experience supporting middle to large companies of more than 2,500 nodes, with multiple locations
• Experience with CISCO ASA and FirePower Firewalls
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly and articulately, with other technical and non-technical partners
• Related Bachelor’s degree or additional related equivalent work experience IT related field
• Experience creating documentation and responding to audits
• Extensive network operations knowledge and experience.

What is Preferred:

• Experience with network monitoring tools ( ie Spectrum, Solarwinds)
• Experience with Palo Firewalls

General Physical Demands
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.

Annualized Salary Range: $85,900 - $139,600
Typical Annualized Hiring Range: $85,900 - $107,400
Final pay will be determined with consideration of market competitiveness, internal equity, and the job-related knowledge, skills, training, and experience you bring.
