Your role at GEI.
As a Network Administrator for GEI you will serve as the technical and subject matter expert in maintaining the network and server infrastructure. You must be able to establish, maintain and increase user satisfaction through professional, courteous and thoughtful end user support.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties
- Train and educate end users on proper security techniques, trends and procedures
- Database management
- Manage Group Policy and Active Directory
- Network and server monitoring
- Maintaining and creating documentation
- Maintain hardware and software license compliance
- Coordinate with I.T. Infrastructure Team to develop and maintain company security policy
- Provide administration for all aspects of network operations including firewalls, VPN, routing, switching, network segmentation, wireless, backups, IPSec and content filtering.
- On premise, SAN and cloud server virtualization
- Security vulnerability, Intrusion Prevention and remediation
- Office 365 administration
- Conduct daily infrastructure security assessments
- Computer lifecycle management, hardware acquisition and inventory management
- Respond to end user helpdesk support requests from local and remote users
- Workstation deployment and troubleshooting
- Manage vendor relationships
- Evaluate new technologies for possible implementation
- Keep up to date with the latest threats and attack methods
- Implement security improvements
Minimum Qualifications
- 4+ years of IT experience as a Network Engineer/Administrator in an SMB/Enterprise environment
- Understanding of Veeam Backup Software
- Willingness to work outside normal business hours and travel when required
- Strong English oral and written communication skills
- Understanding of Fortinet Firewalls
- Security+, Network+, CCNA R/S or CCNA Security certifications a plus
- 4+ years of providing excellent desktop and end user support
- Support VMware environment
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage changing priorities
- Associates Degree (or equivalent) required. Bachelor s Degree preferred.
- Strong understanding of Active Directory and Group Policy
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 environment
- ITIL Foundation certification a plus
- 4+ years supporting Cisco (or equivalent) Firewalls, routers, and switches
- Ability to convey technical concepts in a clear and concise manner to non-technical personnel
