Network Security Administrator Description

The successful candidate will assist in the daily management of the network security operation, implementing, and maintaining information/network security systems for Windstream’s service provider and management networks. The incumbent must possess skills that enable him or her to troubleshoot and maintain security applications and equipment that support both an Internet Service Provider business and a Network Operations environment.

The successful candidate must have a technical network firewall security Infrastructure background, with emphasis on identity and security technologies, including an understanding of Information Security fundamentals (such as the ISC2's Common Body of Knowledge, United Kingdom's Common Criteria, and ISO 17799). A strong desire to promote solid Information Security awareness/practice throughout the enterprise is critical, as the candidate will be a steward assisting the team to uphold a strong security posture on the network infrastructure.

Duties

• Participate in the implementation of firewall policies and standards in a complex, high-scale enterprise network security environment.

• Participate in security alerting, detection and monitoring program by threat research and investigation

• Assist with endpoint security incidents, reviewing and implementing new firewall policy requests

• Assist in the security authentication compliance of the Transport equipment program

• Assist with the decommission or migration of existing environments

• Adhere to policies and standard operating procedures

• Participate in an Incident Response Team as necessary

Candidate Requirements

• Experience with at least one of the following: Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Juniper firewalls or Cisco ISE. Experience in routing and firewall installation, configuration, and administration will be required.

• Network security and routing troubleshooting skills

• Skills in system administration for Linux and Windows operating systems

• Management of identity and access governance platforms and technologies

• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in at least one of the following:

o Firewall management platforms and methodologies

o Cisco ISE and Radius technologies

o BGP dynamic routing experience

o Python scripting experience

o Java or Json experience

• Knowledge of IP network protocols, data flows, and vulnerabilities within a TCP/IP environment

• Must be able to work well in team, remote work environment

• Independent problem solver; self-directed, self-starting

• Good inter-personal and communication skills

• Excellent personal organizational skills

• Ability to prioritize and work issues via ticketing system

• The ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic operations environment

• Available and willing to be in a 24x7 on call rotation

• Ability to lift at a minimum 50 pounds.

Security Knowledge

• Knowledge of network switches, routers, and firewalls.

• Comprehension of alerting and monitoring security fundamentals

• Security system deployment methodology

• Defense in depth strategies

Security Product Knowledge

• Experience with Fortinet, Juniper, or Cisco firewalls

• Windows server 2016 /Windows 2010 desktop

• Familiarity Active Directory and Open Radius

• Familiarity with Cisco ACS/ISE

• Linux or Redhat

Certification / License

• CCNA/CCNP

• NSE-4

• CAP

• GIAC

• CEH

Qualifications

Qualifications Associates degree and 1-3 years’ experience or 4 years equivalent related technical experience or a combination of education and related technical experience required. Knowledge of vulnerability management, dynamic BGP routing, log management, proxy servers, DLP, IPS/IDS, VPN, PKI, multi-factor authentication, SAML, and cryptography is beneficial. Experience with Firewalls and router equipment is required. Desired Qualifications: Ability to stay current with the economic and technological developments in the industry. IND123
