Job Description
The Chief of Staff is responsible for ensuring the CEO can work effectively with internal and external stakeholders to execute the business strategy and management of the Bank. The incumbent will serve as a trusted counsel and strategic advisor to the CEO, while aligning CEO and management team activities to the strategic pillars/agenda. The position will primarily work from the Morristown and New York City locations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Set strategic agenda and prioritize external public relations opportunities for the CEO.
  • Serve as a liaison for the Board of Directors. Set board meeting agendas, circulate meeting materials and ensure the CEO and other meeting participants are briefed and prepared for these meetings. Organize board retreats and other special events.
  • Lead and or provide support and oversight for CEO initiated special projects and committees.
  • Plan, coordinate and keep CEO's meetings focused. Maintain meeting notes and follow up on outstanding items, next steps and takeaways.
  • Collaborate with executive team members to determine and prioritize business strategies. Create and monitor systems and metrics for executive accountability.
  • Translate and apply CEO's vision and priorities in all internal communications.
  • Respond to inquiries on behalf of the CEO.
  • Strategically manage and prioritize CEO's time in collaboration with Executive Assistant.
Requirements:
Required Skills:
  • Demonstrated ability to be strategic and problem solving.
  • Excellent communication skills. Written, verbal and ability to translate complex ideas into clear and concise messages.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven project management skills with experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
  • Experience working with senior executives and/or board members is highly preferred.
Required Experience:
  • MBA preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. business, management, economics, etc.) and a minimum of 10 years of experience in a strategic role, such as management consulting, corporate strategy, or business development at a bank.
