About the Role:

The successful candidate will be an integral part of the team and assume a Chief of Staff & business strategy position, working directly with the Global Head on various Aladdin Wealth strategic initiatives, including client and prospect engagements, communications, business management, industry and market intelligence research, and other special projects. Given the broad range of projects and entrepreneurial business culture, the candidate should feel comfortable working with teams and engaging across functional areas. The role will continue to evolve over time as the business develops and will be an exciting opportunity for someone interested in Financial Technology to gain experience working in a growing business within BlackRock.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be flexible to contribute when opportunities arise to support the team, including but not limited to business development, implementation processes, and client-facing requests
  • Perform analysis to effectively communicate insights on the impact of competitive and industry movements on the business
  • Acquire and maintain a thorough understanding of the team’s processes and operating environment to translate into streamlined, effective procedures that are aligned to strategic priorities and objectives
  • Build, prepare, and manage content and production of regular documentation for meetings and communications, including but not limited to presentation materials, marketing/branding collateral, strategic communications, and briefing memos
  • Provide day-to-day support to the Global Head including meeting preparation and oversight of agendas, presentations, and materials (ExCo, GEC, Board, Clients etc)
  • As appropriate, work with product and client teams on the management of prospective client opportunities, including due diligence, prospecting, deals, and relevant projects
  • Understand all clients and their respective business goals to efficiently help manage and develop client relationships, as well as inform business initiatives
  • Develop strong relationships with all groups within Aladdin and BlackRock more broadly
  • Partner and engage closely with Global Head to execute priority special projects and initiatives, provide/drive ongoing analytics to inform business plans, and facilitate/manage communication between team and external groups

Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess some combination of all the following:

  • An ambitious spirit that is willing to be proactive and pursue additional responsibility quickly
  • Executive Presence: Ability to influence outcomes and drive effective results across a multitude of senior stakeholders
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to engage diverse set of stakeholders, build long-term relationships, and create a collaborative and approachable environment, especially when working across departments or time sensitivity
  • Project Management: Efficiently manage project processes, navigate trade-offs, and effectively manage own and others’ time
  • Intellectual Curiosity: Strong grasp of content, business models, interest in technology, markets, and geopolitical trends; ability to synthesize large amounts of information, form and test hypotheses and identify opportunities
  • Technologically “aware” to be conversant and visualize opportunities. Technology knowledge is important, but a deep skillset is not necessary
  • 5+ years of experience in asset management, financial services or technology
  • Problem-solving: Structured critical thinker with superior problem-solving abilities who can organize people under pressure and pull in key decision makers to prioritize issues and respond to clients and senior management
  • Communication Skills: Superior communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts simply and clearly to clients. Capable of connecting with multiple audiences and articulating lines of reasoning
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Business Writing Skills: Ability to quickly produce management-level quality presentations, business memos and can synthesize key information using data and analytics
  • Ability to operate as a self-starter, operating with limited guidance in a highly matrixed organization
  • Demonstrates integrity and the highest standards, with a commitment to inclusion and diversity
