Job Description
Position Scope and Charter


We are seeking a Training Coordinator for our AHTS contract at NAS Whiting Field, Milton, FL. The successful candidate will be responsible for technical and administrative duties to ensure contract compliance and reporting as defined in Naval Aviation Maintenance Program Standard Operating Procedures, Federal Aviation Regulations, Original Equipment Manufacturer manuals, applicable ISO, and Navy Instructions.

Principal Responsibilities And Accountabilities


  • Issue support equipment licenses as required.
  • Document work accomplished on government and company electronic and/or manual Information Systems
  • Be thoroughly familiar with all requirements contained in government Instructions, manuals and procedures which relate to training.
  • Responsible for adherence to and enforcement of the Tool Control Program.
  • Must comply with established General and Industrial Safety Rules and Regulations as applicable to the contract, facilities and job assignment.
  • Ensure compliance with established Maintenance/Work Instructions and Company policies/procedures.
  • Must be able to utilize card files and common office equipment.
  • Maintains the highest ethical, personal and professional standards
  • Coordinate and keeps the Quality Assurance Manager informed of all training and certification/licensing functions.
  • Conduct new employee orientation, assists with on-the-job training, use of computers and software, apprenticeship programs, health and safety practices, refresher training, new equipment training, cross training, upgrading, retraining displaced workers, and leadership development.
  • Assist in ensuring the safety, security, inventory and preservation of Government owned and Company owned equipment.
  • Adhere to and enforce all Company and Government regulations to ensure personnel safety and the security and preservation of Government and Company-owned equipment.
  • Must have an extensive working knowledge of COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series, OPNAV 3750 series, applicable ISO, Federal Aviation Regulations, and Navy Instructions.
  • Prepare typed and/or computer printed correspondence and reports for Quality Assurance.
  • Research regulations and ensures that all statutory training requirements are met.
  • Deal with employees, auditors, and the customer in courteous, professional and effective manner.
  • Assist in analyzing the knowledge, skills and abilities required for each particular job and develops Job Qualification Standards (JQS) and proficiency task lists.
  • Monitor and assist the line move crew when operating inside the hangar.
  • Maintains a monthly report of personnel scheduled for re-certification and provides data to management
  • Provide data for Government CDRLs (reports) as required by Contract.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work center and around your assigned work area.
  • Prepare certification program data submission for the monthly maintenance plan.
  • Coordinate and administers licensing and certification process, including the development of examinations and OJT requirement in accordance with applicable Government/Company policies and instructions.
  • Evaluates, selects and coordinates the development of training manuals, guides, handouts, visual materials, and tests for in-house courses. Amends/revises materials as needed to adapt to changes that occur in the work environment.
  • Responsible for coordination of employee training program and the maintenance of employee training records.
  • Maintain all training records in accordance with training manual and ISO quality standards.
  • Works collaboratively with the Quality Assurance Manager to write, review and revise the Training Manual.
  • Enter and tracks training due dates in database, prepares a monthly training plan, and coordinates with supervisors to ensure that each employee meets the requirement in a timely manner.
  • Identifies and assesses training needs of staff by conferring with management, the Navy or other personnel/sources as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with required Quality Control policies and inspections.
  • Responsible for adherence to and enforcement of the FOD Prevention Program.
  • Formulate teaching outline and determines effectiveness of instructional methods. Recommend methods of instruction, individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops.
  • Perform all other position related duties as well as other projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Represent the company during training program inspections and audits, to include corporate EH&S audit, AMMT inspections, ISO audits, etc. Recommend and implement corrective actions for any discrepancies identified.
  • Coordinate, schedules and conducts business and technical training for new hires and current employees.
  • Process and track all special process certifications and re-certifications for all employees.


Position Scope and Charter


  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and Company proprietary data.
  • Must adhere to Company policies/procedures and management instruction.
  • Must be able to work weekends, other shifts, and overtime as required.
  • Must have basic computer skills and demonstrate ability to type 30 correct words per minute.
  • Must have an intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint).
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint to generate, compile, analyze and evaluate facts and data using statistical and research methodologies
  • Limited travel may be required.
  • Must have one (1) year in developing training objectives, lesson plans, and training materials. Must possess the ability to operate audio-visual aides and equipment.
  • Must have a thorough working knowledge of applicable regulations, training manuals and applicable DOD instructions.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate key information to training participants both orally and in writing.
  • Must meet any other qualification standards imposed by the government contract not covered by this agreement.
  • Must have ability to develop professional relationships with management, peers, vendors, subcontractors, and customers


Physical Requirements


  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Primarily office environment. Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes. Must be able to maneuver/lift up to 20 pounds.
  • At times, must be able to work in aircraft hangar environment and board / exit aircraft. At times, must be able to climb, bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and stoop. Must be able to walk particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another. Must be able to work primarily with fingers such as typing. Must be able to work at heights, subject to noise, subject to a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, work on scaffolding, exposure to heat/cold.
