Job Description

A Cash Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial operations related to cash handling and management within an organization. They are primarily responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient processing of cash transactions, maintaining cash balances, and implementing effective cash management strategies. The Cash Manager plays a crucial role in safeguarding company assets, managing cash flow, and minimizing financial risks.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and oversee all cash-related activities, including cash handling, deposits, disbursements, and reconciliations.
  2. Monitor and maintain accurate cash balances in various accounts, ensuring sufficient funds are available for daily operations.
  3. Implement and maintain effective cash management procedures and controls to minimize errors, fraud, and financial risks.
  4. Forecast cash flow and develop strategies to optimize cash position, such as investing excess cash and arranging borrowings if needed.
  5. Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, accounting, and treasury, to ensure accurate and timely recording of cash transactions.
  6. Prepare and analyze cash management reports, including cash flow statements, bank reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  7. Identify opportunities to improve cash handling processes and systems, and implement appropriate solutions.
  8. Stay updated on relevant industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to cash management.
  9. Train and guide staff on cash management procedures and provide ongoing support and supervision.
  10. Build and maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions to optimize banking services and seek favorable terms.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  2. Proven work experience as a Cash Manager, Treasurer, or similar role.
  3. Strong knowledge of cash management principles, financial analysis, and banking operations.
  4. Proficient in using financial software and cash management systems.
  5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  6. Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  7. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  8. Knowledge of regulatory compliance and industry standards related to cash management.
  9. Ability to adapt to changing business needs and demonstrate flexibility in a dynamic environment.
  10. Strong ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data security.
