Job Summary
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced professional to join our reimbursement department as a Cash Reimbursement Specialist. In this role, you'll be responsible for processing all cash transactions to ensure efficient and accurate financial operations.
Essential Functions
Post incoming electronic and manual payments, denials, and offsets to patient accounts.
Identify and escalate payments that are less than the agreed-upon amount to the Collector for review and resolution.
Handle billing of secondary claims and re-bill lost claims, providing necessary documentation as needed.
Maintain accurate refund data for management reporting purposes.
Identify payments that should be posted to specific accounts and take appropriate action.
Collaborate with management to adjust claims based on assigned projects before month-end.
Review payment remittance to ensure correct posting to accounts and make corrections if necessary.
Post denials with the appropriate date of service, using relevant denial codes.
Utilize the RT queue to efficiently manage payment corrections.
Required/Preferred Education And Experience
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical cash posting or medical billing and collections.
Experience With Electronic Cash Posting Is Essential.
Familiarity with various payer types, including government and commercial insurance companies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows software.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Understanding of HCFA-1500 claim forms and re-billing processes.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Strong multitasking ability with a keen eye for detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this role, you'll primarily be seated, engaging in communication with team members. Occasionally, you may need to stand, walk, and reach with your hands and arms. The role may involve lifting and/or moving items up to 25 pounds.
