This position communicates effectively with patients by accepting either inbound or outbound calls to identify their needs. This may include reviewing protocols and patient history; scheduling/rescheduling/confirming/canceling appointments. This position builds strong communication skills and standard knowledge of scheduling, including the ability to navigate confidently through basic protocols.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide messages or transfer the call to physicians and nurses
- Identifies patients by date of birth and name in computer system
- Other duties may apply
- Identifies payer source and verifies insurance eligibility
- Accurately enters/updates patient information in scheduling system
- Obtains current patient information for established and new patients
- Protects/observes patient confidentiality per policies and procedure
- Accurately imports registration documents into patients' electronic health record
- Creates new account if patient not in the system
- Reviews scheduling system for needed updated demographics and consent forms
- Schedules and re-schedules appointments as needed

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or higher degree completed
- Intermediate Windows PC navigation proficiency or higher and ability to navigate in multiple systems
- Available to work (32 hours/week) Monday- Friday. Flexible to work any of our 4 hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 9:00am to 2:00pm. Must be available to complete process training full-time (40 hours/week). It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends.
- Bilingual Spanish/English proficiency
- 1+ years of customer service experience analyzing and solving customer problems OR 1+ years of experience in an office setting environment using the telephone and computer as the primary instruments to perform job duties
Preferred Qualifications:
- Medical/dental office or medical scheduling knowledge
- Data Entry experience
