Business Management Analyst, Corporate Banking



What's the opportunity?


Corporate Banking plays a key role in the realisation of Royal Bank of Canada Capital Markets’ (‘RBCCM’) objectives through the structuring, and delivery of the bank debt as well as managing the overall client relationship and identifying and coordinating broad cross sell towards our targeted customer base. The role is to assist the Business Manager, Director, of US to ensure the efficient and effective day-to-day management of business activities.


What do you need to succeed?


  • Key execution and coordination role with CTM, LPM, GLA, Legal, Compliance, GRM, Finance and Tax.
  • Provide support on projects related to evolution of our technology platforms including our internal system of record, Client Relationship Management System, and others as required.
  • Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities
  • Manage connectivity with key support functions. Ensure the business receives the best possible support and functions are kept informed of developments and initiatives within the business.
  • Escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions on a timely basis.
  • Assist in managing of the budgeting process, including the annual plan, 5-year Line of Business and quarterly forecasts. Produce and coordinate regional presentations.
  • Manage and produce various ad-hoc presentations and data projects as required, including regulatory requests.
  • As part of the Business Management team, assist the Corporate Banking business in US as well as other regions as applicable to ensure efficient and effective day-to-day management of business activities.
  • Be the focal point for Corporate Banking US and globally where necessary, on projects affecting the business. Ensure projects are run smoothly and efficiently with the minimum impact to the team.
  • Assist with annual and adhoc reviews in relation to Fiancne, AML, Compliance, GRM and regulatory requests. Ensure Controls are robust and effective.
  • Drive process and system improvements and ensure procedures are up-to-date, including the development of new policies and procedures and our day-to-day business activities as required.
  • Assist with co-ordination of audits (internal/regulatory), regulatory exams and operational risk reviews, monitoring action plans to ensure issues are resolved prior to committed completion dates.
  • Proactively identify operational risks/ control deficiencies in the business


Basic Qualifications


  • Minimum of 2 year of relevant work experience
  • Bachelor's degree with a focus in Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or other quantitative fields


Other Required Qualifications:


  • Advanced MS Office skills including Excel, Power Point, Access
  • Strong data and business analysis
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and simultaneous workflows while meeting tight and often competing deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to take initiative and function independently balanced with strong team skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to maintain relationships at all levels within of the organization


Suggested Qualifications:


  • Understanding of relational databases and basic knowledge of SQL
  • Familiarity with Salesforce CRM platform
  • Familiarity with data visualizations tools such as Qlik and Tableau

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $85,000 - $100,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
