Job Description

Full Time Exempt 

Salary range: $75,000 - $85,000

 

Are you looking to grow your career in business development and sales, and have a passion for natural foods and specialty brands? Climax Foods is seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to drive sales growth, create and cultivate customer relationships, and elevate brand awareness. This role reports to the Head of Marketing until the hire of a Head of Sales, and, as our first ever business development position, will offer an exciting growth opportunity and contribute to our mission of revolutionizing the plant-based food industry. 


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments at Climax Foods, fostering a cohesive and synergistic work environment.
  • Travel locally to deliver products to create, foster and maintain strong relationships with customers, both existing and prospective, ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction.
  • Provide product knowledge and training to external stakeholders to ensure a thorough understanding of our offerings.
  • Represent Climax Foods at sales presentations, tastings, trade shows, events, festivals, and conferences, showcasing our brand and products.
  • Contribute to the development of sales strategies to achieve ambitious targets and expand market presence.
  • Exceed sales targets and goals set by the team, collaborating closely with production, operations, and marketing departments.
  • Assist in creating compelling sales presentations and proposals that effectively showcase our innovative product offerings.
  • Be a trailblazer that helps establish the Climax Foods business development & sales department.
  • Implement and maintain a CRM with accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities for efficient tracking and reporting.
  • Participate in contract negotiations and pricing discussions to maximize revenue and secure long-term partnerships.
  • Work alongside operations to track purchase orders and manage timely deliveries, ensuring seamless customer experiences.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Specialty Cheese (dairy or plant-based) is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain long-term customer relationships.
  • College degree in a relevant field.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, enabling effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A minimum of 2 years of business development or sales experience with a natural products brand in Foodservice and Retail, demonstrating a track record of success.
  • Must have a valid driving license, with a clean driving record. The person hired for this role will be required to drive through the Bay Area to meet customers and make deliveries.
  • Familiarity with the Bay Area market is preferred, but not essential.
  • Proactive and results-oriented mindset, with a drive to surpass targets and achieve exceptional sales outcomes.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
