About the role
As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the market’s growth strategy and commitment to client service. You will demonstrate a knowledge of the market and competitive landscape, and utilize their business development and marketing expertise, along with knowledge of professional services, to deploy the full range of services required to support the market’s business development and marketing goals. Other key responsibilities include:
Practice, Market, and Client Development
- Providing research, analysis, and reporting to support the identification and development of new clients and the enhancement of existing client relationships
- Building strong relationships with the partners, counsel, and associates in the office to establish a role as trusted advisor
- Developing a comprehensive understanding of our practices and clients in San Diego and Orange County in order to drive strategic priorities, including client engagement and relationship building
Strategic Planning
- Aiding in the execution of cross-selling strategies, including collaborating with relevant Business Development (“BD”) teams
- Supporting the implementation of business development tactics and initiatives in alignment with the strategic objectives of practices, markets, relevant industry sectors, and/or clients as assigned
- Coordinating the research of markets, competition, and client targets conflicts for the department and practice groups to drive strategy
Marketing Communications and Client Programs
- Collaborating with lawyers, BD and Brand & Communications teams on speaking opportunities, seminars and sponsorships, webinars, and other visibility initiatives
- Developing internal communications to inform relevant practice and industry groups of significant achievements, developments, and market synergies
- Assisting with the creation and maintenance of written marketing materials and web site content, including practice profiles and relevant experience lists
About you
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Display the ability to execute multiple work streams and manage priorities effectively
- Demonstrate superior oral and written communication and professional interpersonal skills
- Possess well-developed analytical and research skills
And have:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field
- Previous legal industry experience is preferred but not necessary, as is knowledge of the healthcare, life sciences, and environmental industries
Compensation & Benefits
Successful candidates will not only be provided with an outstanding career opportunity and welcoming environment, but will also receive a generous and competitive total compensation package. The salary range for this role is $125,000 - $160,000 and represents the firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, and location. Discretionary bonuses may be awarded in recognition of individual and firm performance — and profit-sharing partnership contributions to 401(k) accounts may be given based on firm performance.
