Job Description
  • Use the Lab Operating System to continuously iterate and improve the school
  • Planning, organizing, coordinating and scaling the use of instructional and wellness data, including facilitating assessments and data analysis in partnership with the Data Specialist team, to inform and improve teaching practices, learning environments and personalized learning programming.
  • Promotes and supports the overall mission of the District by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with the public and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.
  • Computer applications related to the work.
  • Performing assigned responsibilities in a manner consistent with the District’s established Core Values.
  • Principles and techniques of making effective oral presentations.
  • Evaluate student progress and adjust instructional and wellness strategies according to data to foster culturally, linguistically and identity-sustaining pedagogies and practices.
  • Manages assigned staff; assigns programmatic responsibilities and projects; resolves workload and technical issues and assures that goals are defined and achieved.
  • Leads consistent and engaging family communications across multiple platforms.
  • Design and implement professional learning, digital literacies and strategic plans to support personalized learning and actualizing VirtualEDU’s vision.
  • State and Federal laws and regulatory issues governing public education, including rules and regulations of the Minnesota Department of Education.
  • Legal, ethical, and professional rules of conduct for public education administrators.
  • Fundamentals of project-based learning

  • Ensures a safe, orderly, and disciplined online and blended school environments free from institutionalized racism and discrimination that impedes academic excellence and success for all learners.
  • Principles and practices of public sector administrative management, including strategic planning, budgeting, purchasing, contract management, customer service, and employee supervision.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience leading or teaching in an online and/or blended learning environment
  • Master’s Degree in Education, or a closely related field
  • Local community resources, regional community services programs, and regional training programs.
  • Developing and maintaining a public education learning environment in which positive, appropriate behavior is encouraged, and discipline and engagement problems are minimized.
  • Understanding and applying educational standards and procedures and Federal and state rules and regulations.
  • Advises and coaches teachers to improve curriculum and instruction through online and blended observation and performance evaluation.
  • Advancing the District’s mission and values through careful attention to the key issues of Learning, Environment, and Resources.
  • Driver’s license.
  • Online and blended learning platforms and systems.
  • Directing and coordinating VirtualEDU operations.
  • Leads student retention, recruitment, enrollment and onboarding efforts to increase school enrollment
  • Curriculum requirements and learning objectives.
  • Identifies areas of need for staff development and assists in the design and implementation of staff development programs; specifically able to lead staff in developing transdisciplinary standards-aligned instructional units in support of school vision and strategic plan
  • Develops and maintains a calendar of school activities, including the planning of community events.
  • Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Designs implement and evaluate programs to prevent student discipline/engagement problems; advises and assists team leaders, advisors, supervisory paraprofessionals, counselors, and other staff toward the resolution and correction of student school problems.
  • Principal’s license from the State of Minnesota.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and presenting management reports.
