Who We’re Looking For

Toyota’s Information Technology Experiences (ITx) organization is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Data Scientist within the Supply Chain Modernization, Advanced Analytics department.

The primary responsibility of this role is to serve as a technical domain expert in machine learning (ML), guiding machine learning architectural design decisions, developing and reviewing model and application code, and ensuring high availability and performance of our machine learning applications.

Reporting to the Chief Data Scientist/VP Data and Analytics, the person in this role will support the Data and Analytics department's objective to recast its relationship with business functions from a provider of technology to a business partner capable of innovating business practices through the delivery of technology services and data science.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead large-scale ML initiatives with customer needs in mind.
• Promote best practices in all aspects of the engineering and modeling lifecycles.
• Drive the creation, delivery, and evolution of ML models and software components that enable state-of-the-art intelligent systems, working in collaboration with the Business, Data, Product, Architecture, Engineering, and Cloud teams.
• Leverage cloud-based architectures and technologies to deliver optimized ML models at scale.
• Use programming languages like Python, PySpark, or Scala.

Who We’re Looking For

Toyota’s Digital Products and Services is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Staff Software Engineer. The primary responsibility of this role is to lead a team of software engineers, architects and implement multiple application development platforms. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Cloud Native Application Development, the person in this role will support Digital Products and Services’ objective to promote the application modernization efforts across the enterprise.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop methodologies to reduce technical debt, improve code quality, improve system reliability and resiliency objectives.
• Interface with the application development teams to understand the current software development practices, application landscape, tools, and methodologies to develop a plan to drive improvements.
• Work across OneTech horizontals to remove impediments to software delivery initiatives.
• Work with the portfolio architects to understand the current and the target state of their application portfolio.
• Build strategic working relationships with OneTech horizontal groups such as Cyber security, Digital Platform Engineering, Data and Analytics etc.
• Deliver Low Code application development platforms on public and private cloud infrastructure.

What You Bring

• Software development experience in a large enterprise, delivering complex high-scale software platforms
• Ability to work with other horizontal teams such as cyber-security, cloud engineering and DevOps
• Experience with microservices, event-driven architecture and domain-driven design
• Ability to lead a scrum team, knowledge of scrum processes such as daily scrum, sprint planning, and refinement.
• Experience with Cloud, container, and Kubernetes.
• Project/program management experience, business case development and ROI analysis for platforms.
• Automotive industry experience with an understanding of business processes across manufacturing, dealers, corporate services.

What You May Bring

• Expert or Intermediate certification in Mendix application development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another engineering discipline.
