Associate Director Procurement Jobs

The Global Sourcing Associate Director will establish strong partnerships with functional leaders to oversee external expenditure in support of Medical Affairs and Marketing. Collaborating with functional leadership, they will create and execute global sourcing category strategies and plans to generate value. This role is responsible for crafting the sourcing strategy for the Global Supplier Category base, overseeing the strategic sourcing process from supplier/product evaluation to contract negotiation, compliance considerations, and ongoing performance management. Additionally, the Associate Director will stay updated on enterprise needs, relevant industries, and best practices in strategic sourcing.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Taking a comprehensive view of spending and identifying opportunities for demand management, leveraging, and cost control at the category level.
• Proactively cultivating partnerships with critical partner functions such as Legal, Finance, and IT, fostering open communication, idea-sharing, and a culture of respect and collaboration.
• Collaborating closely with business area owners to drive organizational value, offering leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams.
• Establishing high-performance engagement models with business units and regions.
• Developing and implementing a framework for Post Contract Management and Supplier Relationship Management, with a focus on continuous improvement in each supplier relationship.
• Identifying, nurturing, and managing strategic business relationships with key stakeholders in Marketing and Medical Affairs.

Desired Skills:

• Procurement experience within the pharmaceutical industry, encompassing medical affairs, marketing, patient services, meetings & events, market access, operations, R&D, or equivalent roles.
• Experience in R&D Clinical Trials or Medical Evidence studies, working with Secondary Data sources and real-world healthcare data, and an understanding of outcomes research and payer access issues.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with Clinical Research Organizations and External Providers, fostering effective interaction throughout the organization across regions, functions, and cultural backgrounds.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive global procurement experience, managing various categories related to marketing, medical affairs, or R&D.
