Job Description

Job Summary:

The Associate Creative Director (ACD) is responsible for bringing our brand story and the assortment to life through art and copy concepts. They will participate in the concept, campaign development and marketing of the At Home brand across all vehicles and channels with a heavy focus on the paid media and social media channels. Reporting to the Creative Director, our ACD team will be a key cornerstone to developing and leading a world-class creative team and work closely with our media and creative agencies.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • World class communication and organization skills managing complex and high visibility projects in partnership with teams both internal to and external partners.
  • Manages change thoughtfully and expediently and communicates to the necessary partners.
  • Executes work within designated budgets, formats, timelines, and branding guidelines.
  • Gives constructive creative feedback and direction with grace and collaborates masterfully with an approach that makes everyone’s work better.
  • Develops and presents unique, innovative, and strategic concepts and communication solutions for a variety of projects.
  • Manages $1+ million production budget for media projects annually
  • Creates work to support a $60+ million media budget
  • Manages $2+ million agency engagement including hours, scope, retainer, and budget
  • Leads agency and internal resources to complete projects as briefed by the Creative Director, Channel or Strategy teams.
  • Has a customer driven creative’s vision and a scientist’s curiosity, adapting the work and constantly testing and learning to achieve and improve results.
  • Demonstrates a strong knowledge of brand and directs creative on the use of innovative and effective product communication and marketing techniques.
  • Delivers a consistent and differentiated brand voice, look, and feel that represents the brand, assortment and trend in a way that is captivating and relevant to our customer.
  • Is a master storyteller, crafting engaging creative that fulfills the needs as outlined in the brief.
  • Manages agency output, briefing and guides and reviews creative and strategic work for all paid media and social media deliverables.
  • Adapts on the fly and switches gears when provided new direction, assignments or tasks based on the needs of the business.
  • Directs photography and video produced for At Home in partnership with internal studio and external production resources.
  • Manages and directs full-time employees, agency and freelance resources as needed.
  • Directs the development of copy, brand, photography and design standards for internal and agency partners.
  • Identifies processes that can be improved to be more efficient and manages the implementation of process improvements.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Ability to multitask and be extremely organized with attention to detail.
  • Retail client media experience preferred. Home décor vertical passion or experience is a plus.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to work in a corporate environment.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to adhere to brand standards and evolve the brand identity when appropriate.
  • 10-12 years of related experience as an Art Director or ACD in either an agency or in-house creative role
  • Social media experience including content creation and creative for both paid and organic applications.
  • Self-motivated with ability to make quick decisions in a very fast paced ever evolving environment.
  • Experience directing video content for both social/low production and TV/high production outputs
  • Ability to manage direct reports, and extended teams of agency resources effectively.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a highly collaborative hybrid environment.
  • BA or higher in art, design, media or similar area of study.
  • Ability to meet hard deadlines and manage multiple projects while still producing high-quality work.
  • Digital media focused portfolio with high caliber work for both awareness and performance.
