The successful applicant will be expected to: (1) develop/maintain a nationally and internationally recognized extramurally funded research program, and (2) contribute to the Department’s teaching and service efforts at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the candidate’s area of expertise. Additionally, the applicant is expected to recruit and mentor graduate students.

Applicants must have an earned doctorate in Kinesiology, Physiology or related discipline. Priority will be given to applicants with current faculty status and/or postdoctoral training. Applicants must demonstrate a record of scholarly publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and evidence of extramural support for research activities.

The Department of Nutrition and Integrative Physiology is the 6th largest department at Florida State University (FSU), with 1,250 undergraduate and 100 graduate students. The department offers undergraduate majors in Nutrition & Dietetics, Food Science, Exercise Physiology, and Athletic Training. The department offers graduate degrees at the Master’s level in Sports Nutrition, Nutrition & Food Science, Exercise Physiology, and Sports Sciences. The department also offers graduate degrees at the doctoral level in Nutrition & Food Science, and Exercise Physiology. The faculty in the department have expertise in exercise physiology, nutrition, and food sciences with areas of research interest related to obesity, aging, skeletal muscle, and cardiovascular physiology, nutritional supplementation, nutrient timing, the role of functional foods and gut microbiome in chronic diseases, food safety, cancer, smoking/vaping and alcohol abuse.
