Job Description

Overview /Objective
The NFL Brand Experience team works their magic at the important meeting point between the NFL Brand, and wherever and however our fans connect with it. The Freelance Art Director is responsible for creating high quality, on brand creative that aligns to and directly support their Creative Director’s vision. They will establish a high level of trust and credibility with her/his team and our clients within the NFL by bringing fresh, edgy, industry-leading ideas to the table. The Freelance Art Director is responsible for the design and brand strategy of the NFL’s major national and global tentpole events, the brand, identity and uniform design of our 32 Clubs, creative support for all NFL internal business partners and departments, the NFL’s cause platforms, and growth and development of their designers.
Responsibilities
  • Brand strategy, logo development and uniform design for our 32 Clubs
  • Oversight and execution of event décor programs
  • Development, socialization and implementation of style guides across all internal and external NFL touchpoints and partner platforms
  • Communicate consistently and effectively with Project Managers, Production, other Art Directors, Creative Director, and clients to keep projects on track for on-time delivery
  • Manage his/her own schedule as projects will unexpectedly change order of priority
  • Brief writing and brand research
  • Oversee design and implementation of NFL internal business partners
  • Directly manage two freelance senior designers
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on design of branding work and key presentations
  • Present work to internal clients
Required Qualifications
  • Must be well organized and punctual
  • Ability to bring a range of creative thinking and ideas to the different brand challenges
  • Effective management skills of his/her design team
  • Strong presentation and personal skills
  • Experience designing for brands and events
  • An understanding of the NFL brand
  • Strong conceptual design and art direction skills
  • Bachelor of Fine Arts or equivalent in Graphic Design
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong copywriting skill
  • Familiarity with design and design direction for motion graphics
  • 6-8 years professional experience

Physical Demands
On-site responsibilities around major events requires a significant amount of time walking, and on your feet.
Travel
Travel can be up to 30-35%, and involves planning trips around all major national and international tentpole events, in-person presentations to our Clubs around the country, and collaborative trips between our NFL offices.
Salary / Pay Range
