About The Role


Magnit’s Enterprise Applications (EA) team is seeking a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to work with key project stakeholders to identify, document, and communicate requirements across several EA initiatives. They work closely with the business units to gain in-depth understanding of stakeholders' business strategy, processes, roadmaps, and the context in which the business operates. The BSA will be instrumental in ensuring the technical delivery team and relevant stakeholders have a shared understanding of the work to be done. This shared understanding is facilitated in a variety of ways including initial and iterative discovery, creating, refining, and managing backlog items, demonstration of completed work, and collaborating with the Product Owner and Business Stakeholders to identify and communicate which features take priority for the team. The BSA works with the team to ensure requirements are understood, developed, tested, and delivered to specification. They are skilled in translating technical functionality for business users and conveying business requirements to technical teams. They will work with the development team to ensure alignment with best practices and business strategy. Typical scope of work will include stakeholder management, requirements gathering, functional design preparation, user story creation and refinement, configuration, supporting QA and UAT test script creation, managing UAT, training, and production support.


The ideal candidate will have deep experience PeopleSoft Financials (GL, AP, Billing, AR) and/or a demonstrated ability to rapidly come up to speed on new platforms and business processes. Projects will include areas such as Merger and Acquisition ERP migrations and integrations, Third Party System Integrations, and platform optimizations. They will also provide Backoffice operations support for the Billing, Cash and Finance business teams.


What You Will Do


  • Works with the platform team to develop points and release estimates
  • Manages customer relationships and expectations by developing a communication process and providing consistent and transparent status, risks, mitigations, and prioritization updates
  • Provides consultative technical and/or business process leadership to the platform team
  • Collaborating with prospective users and stakeholders to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements
  • Educate users on the new features by creating and/or contributing to release notes, feature overviews, and documentation.
  • Understands stakeholder’s business processes and technical platform processes
  • Facilitate discovery workshops to gain business concepts, requirements, and alignment
  • Works closely with the broader Enterprise Applications team, Learning & Development, Infrastructure, Information Security, and other PRO departments to ensure feature release activities are supported across the organization
  • Acts as a liaison between the business and the platform team
  • Provides proactive recommendations on new or enhanced systems, processes, software, upgrades, and modifications.
  • Captures business and user requirements and creates corresponding User Stories
  • Ensures requirements are understood, developed, tested, and delivered to specification
  • Ensure the Development team and business stakeholders have a shared understanding of the requested features and desired business values and outcomes
  • Demonstrate iterations to customers (pre-release) and gather feedback and approval.
  • Perform business process gap analyses to meet business unit’s desired outcomes.
  • Participating in Scrum meetings and product sprints
  • Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with a cross-functional project team.
  • Identify, create, and facilitate process design changes by conducting business and systems process analysis and design at a complex level
  • Stay current with new and forthcoming Platform and Application features/capabilities
What You Will Need


  • Excellent customer interface skills and the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders, end users and technical team members are required.
  • The ability to develop and forge strong relationships and build consensus among competing stakeholders.
  • Possesses knowledge of ERP Platforms and applications and how they’re used internally and can interpret and validate technical specifications and designs
  • Demonstrated analytical, design and problem-solving skills.
  • Provides leadership to team members and peers by collaborating with others; presenting ideas to management, peers and others; identifying and initiating projects; managing resources; driving the resolution of issues; and holding self and team accountable for results
  • 4 years working with PeopleSoft Applications is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly come up to speed on new platforms and business processes.
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or other related technical discipline.
  • Skilled in outcome-based requirements and user story creation and implementation
  • Excellent ability to align business process and requirements with a technical implementation
  • Familiarity with software architecture concepts.
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner desired
  • Exceptional analytics skills and capability to identify systemic and downstream implications
  • Foundational ERP platforms understanding strongly desired.
  • 3+ years’ experience in technology project implementations
  • 2+ years overall experience with business process design.
  • Must have experience working on large scale projects as well as handling day-to-day operational requests from the business
  • 3+ years as a BSA
  • Proactive problem solver, leader, facilitator, and communicator
  • Proficient with requirements documentation, user story definition, and acceptance criteria writing.
  • Experience with PeopleTools including development of processes/reports; Application Engine, Component Interface, Integration Tools, Data Management tools and Reporting Tools desired.
  • Trained and Certified Agile Professional strongly desired.
  • Exceptional communicator, listener, speaker, and writer.


Salary Range for this role is between $68,000 - $76,000 based on experience and location.
