Analyst, Data Strategy Jobs

The Data Strategy team is responsible for developing and driving enterprise-wide data & analytics strategies to support AltaMed’s mission to eliminate health disparities in healthcare access and outcomes. This team enables growth in value of data & analytics as a product and strategic asset through ongoing alignment of data strategy in support of the business strategy.

The Data Strategy Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining multi-year Data & Analytics strategic plans and roadmaps to enable key business objectives. Highly visible across the enterprise, this role works with senior and functional leaders from across the organization to understand current business needs, anticipate opportunities for data & analytics integration, and develop strategic frameworks and capability roadmaps that support performance improvement. The data strategy analyst will collaborate with data & analytics technical teams to bridge business objectives to analytical products & solutions.

To be successful in this role, individuals must display an in-depth understanding of both technical perspectives surrounding data management & data analytics, as well as the business drivers & imperatives for data-driven solutions. This is a role with shifting responsibilities across a wide array of functions – data strategy, product & project management, business & data analysis, and analytics consulting / problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Develop on-demand subject matter expertise in order to “walk in our client’s shoes” and be able to bridge business strategy to data strategy.
• Maintain a broad degree of business functional knowledge across the clients we serve, and become an internal subject matter expert for data & analytics technical teams.
• Create and deliver effective presentations to a senior audience, socializing ideas and subject matter expertise, and maximizing feedback in order to increase stakeholder buy-in.
• Develop and maintain short, medium, and long-term data & analytics product roadmaps, identifying areas of critical need based on enterprise-wide strategic priorities.
• Monitor and communicate industry trends and best practices in data management, analytics, data visualization, and data science.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain a product backlog that balances the needs of the business with management of technical debt.
• Document and conduct analysis of key strategic business objectives and analytical needs and participate in strategic planning activities associated with data strategy, analytics enablement, and analytic product development.
• Participate in change management activities by developing internal business processes tied to a customer-centric analytics operating model. Propose people, process, technology, and data solutions to help create a more efficient analytics organization.
• Interact with enterprise-wide business teams to understand and document data & analytics product requirements, and work with analytics & IT stakeholders to envision and propose solutions that meet business imperatives.
• Work with senior clinical, operational, and technical leadership to influence the prioritization of data & analytics use cases in order to increase business value while maximizing efficiency of execution.
• Document and validate business and technical requirements and processes, and assist in the development of new processes and ways of working to support improved data management & operations effectiveness.
• Implement strategic assessment frameworks to understand current state capabilities, and propose bridging solutions from current state to an ideal, modernized platform.
• Provide recommendations on technical solutions (analytics, data management & architecture, business intelligence) to support business processes & analytical needs through a product-driven analytics approach, and assist in the development of business impact / value stories.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Collaborate with business units across the organization to help crystalize the vision of a Data & Analytics, focused on improving data literacy across the organization.
• Support the development of success metrics for data strategy and other initiatives related to data modernization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, mathematics, finance, statistics, business administration, or a related field, with appropriate professional and technical experience required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a product manager, program manager, or business analyst, with demonstrated experience working within a data & analytics environment required.
• Prior professional experience with data strategy development preferred.
• Prior experience with product management & agile delivery principles (Scaled Agile - SAFe) highly preferred.
• Previous experience in health care analytics, data strategy, business strategy, or clinical administration required.
• Prior professional experience working within a healthcare environment (payer, provider, vendor) required.
• Master degree in public health, epidemiology, information management, business administration or related field preferred.
