  • Take ownership of quantitative data analysis, data management, and processes for our new research platform.
  • Assist in modeling and forecasting multiple data points.
  • Aggregate and handle large datasets from data vendors and diverse sources, including unconventional ones, using scripts and APIs where possible.

Requirements:

  • Experience manipulating and analyzing diverse datasets, such as voter files, Census data, proprietary client-produced data, or other publicly available datasets. Familiarity with U.S. Census Bureau geographies, data sets, and products is a plus.
  • Proven ability to plan and execute extensive, complex data management or analysis projects, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and providing detailed updates on project status, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and comfort with uncertainty and ambiguity.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a quantitative data analysis environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new data analysis skills and adapt to different data environments.
  • Demonstrated experience applying quantitative data analysis techniques to derive actionable conclusions and insights for non-technical audiences, including cross-tabulating survey data, econometrics, and forecasting methods.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel is essential. Proficiency in R statistical software, Python programming language, writing SQL database queries, and Tableau data visualization software is highly desirable.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in statistics, mathematics, demographics, geography, geographic information systems (GIS), urban/regional planning, logistics, and computer science strongly preferred.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy while maintaining a big-picture perspective.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
