Job Summary

This Airport Affairs Regional Manager invests in the future of Southwest’s People as they work to advance Southwest Airline's interests through the negotiation of the business agreements at airports within respective portfolio. This role’s advancement efforts include, but not exclusive of, Use and Lease Agreements, Capital Development, and Facility Acquisitions. This role is responsible for the analysis of each airport's Capital Plan and budgets, and they seek opportunities to reduce or mitigate airport costs. They also help to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to accomplish these goals.

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work onsite on our Corporate Campus at least three days a week. The Department designates the specific three days of the week Employees must work on-site.

- Preferred: Experience navigating contracts/legal documentation
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Intermediate level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in:
- Coordinate with FP&A, Insurance, Legal, Internal Audit and other internal groups
- Ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
- Licensing/Certification
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
- Develop and implement strategies for reviewing and analyzing airport budgets, airport capital projects, and lease agreements, to identify and negotiate reductions in them under the guidance of Leadership
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process
- Lead and/or Attend Airline/Airport Affairs Committee Meetings
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Other Qualifications
- Negotiate airport agreements for all airport support buildings and off airport real estate
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Physical Abilities
- Skilled in translating detailed information into high-level overview.
- Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies for negotiating airport use and lease agreements and more complex development agreements under the guidance of Leadership
- Education
- Skilled in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Preferred: Experience with Quickbase and/or Tririga

- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of real estate assets
- Knowledge of financial analysis and modeling including knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data
- Maintain records and perform analysis
- Ability to shift back and forth between two or more activities or sources of information (such as speech, sounds, touch, or other sources)
- Ability to perform work duties from limited space workstation/desk/office area for extended periods of time
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Relationship management or consulting with an emphasis on critical thinking & analysis
- Communicate with internal departments on airport's current and forecasted rates
- Serve as the Corporate liaison to airport/facility landlord within respective portfolio
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee�s Leaders
- Work closely with commercial and operational departments to ensure adequate space is available to meet the plan
- Experience
- Evaluate capital project scope and delivery approach for projects Southwest Airlines will need on behalf of airports as well as negotiating business terms and agreement under the guidance of Leadership
Pay & Benefits
Competitive market salary from $112,950.00 per year to $125,500.00 per year* depending on qualifications and experience, with opportunity for future pay increases based on performance and market movement. For eligible leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
