CAMS is seeking a Maintenance Manager for the Three Rivers Energy Center near Morris, IL. The incumbent will have 5 direct employees. Under the general direction of the Plant Manager, the incumbent is responsible for all aspects of plant maintenance. As the facility is nearing the completion of construction, the successful candidate will be responsible for initiation of preventative and corrective maintenance processes, development and implementation of plant procedures, initiating vendor work on site, and putting any and all other processes in place to ensure successful long-term commercial operation.
The CPV Three Rivers Energy Center has (2) 1x1 natural gas fired combined cycle power blocks facility utilizing GE 7HA.02 Gas Turbines and A650 Steam Turbines, each in single shaft configuration with air cooled condensers. The 1250 MW facility is interconnected to ComEd and will sell power into the PJM market.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and maintenance of spare parts inventory with proper consideration for critical spares, capital spares, consumables, and on-time delivery of parts and materials required for outages and other maintenance activities.
- Respond to forced outages on a 24/7 basis, develop and execute recovery plans as necessary.
- Develop and executes projects assigned by Plant Manager.
- Maintain records including work order completion, internal reports, third-party reports and OEM reports so that a complete and accurate record of work is maintained.
- Select, train and manage a work force that is motivated, flexible in skills, cross-trained and technically astute ensuring an effective and motivated team.
- Enter into and administer maintenance agreements and contracts in accordance with company and Owner policies and all relevant terms and conditions.
- Implement training and qualification programs.
- Promote a culture of compliance and ensure active compliance with environmental, health & safety, and NERC programs.
- Oversee the day-to-day maintenance of the facility to support achieving company and group goals.
- Make expeditious appropriate decisions to non-routine plant operating conditions.
- Implement and drive continuous improvement activities through implementation of change management process and best practices.
- Develop a system to track improvement of planned outages.
- Oversee the facility’s maintenance program and ensure that it is comprehensive, effective, and contains an effective mix of preventive, predictive and condition-based maintenance.
- Optimize resource utilization by implementation of an effective maintenance organization.
- Other duties as designated by the company.
- Maintain good relationships with key suppliers to ensure deadlines and fiscal targets are met.
- Manage contracts and contractors effectively with appropriate attention to contractor safety and performance.
- Ensure that detailed and comprehensive work scopes are developed that support complete understanding of the work and development and application of safe work procedures.
- Plans and coordinates plant maintenance as required to maximize plant availability.
Experience and Education:
- Extensive knowledge of gas and steam technologies preferred.
- Experience with operations and maintenance of gas turbine, steam turbine, generators, heat recovery steam generators, hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic devices, controls and monitoring.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in power plant operations and maintenance or similar industry required.
- Prior experience with plant commissioning and start-up is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience indicating effective communication skills, analytic ability, detail orientation, and ability to make decisions and meet deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or the equivalent in training or experience
- Proficiency with personal computers, including Microsoft Office suite and ability to quickly become proficient with computerized maintenance management systems.
- Knowledge of human resources desired.
- Proven managerial/supervisory experience.
