Description
Experience: Several years of related office work experience.
  • Follow established timelines; alert the Director/Assistant Director if new dates are needed and/or deadline to completed admission decisions or degree audits is in jeopardy.
  • Serve as lead coordinator for special populations applying to the University: Advanced Placement Program/Early College High School; CSU Concurrent Enrollment and Visitor Programs; and Course Match.
  • Serve as support to Admissions Analyst and assist with incoming California Promise students including verification of ADT, contacting local community colleges for students who have an outstanding ADT, contacting students regarding CA Promise participation, handling phone calls from students with questions about CA Promise.
  • Determine undergraduate admission eligibility for first time freshmen applicants and transfer applicants, including review of coursework on A-G list, review of SAT/ACT scores, and any AP coursework and calculation of eligibility index for incoming freshman.
  • Education: Completion of a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents.
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Work with applicants requiring major-specific review (ie: Biology, Kinesiology, PreNursing, etc) ensuring accurate program plan is recorded at the time of admission and update as appropriate with supplemental transcripts.
  • Record eligibility information into PS, request letters for students, refer any ineligible students to Director/Assistant Director, and all other work required to admit, deny or refer the undergraduate student applicant for further consideration.
  • Post and articulate transfer and other external credit for degree audit purposes, coordinating with Articulation Officer to fill articulation gaps and find opportunities to improve efficiency.
  • Review of lower division coursework, ensure transfer applicant has met the Golden 4 requirement, and calculate GPA for incoming transfer students.

  • Serve as back up Residency Specialist for new and returning students and convey residency information for tuition purposes as defined by the Chancellor’s Office.
  • Train and provide lead work direction to student assistants.
  • Follow up, via telephone, email, or in person, with student applicants, and provide and/or clarify admission eligibility information to students, parents, and/or high school counselors.
  • Assist with imaging, index, and retrieval, correcting any issues with batches as they arise.
  • Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Lead Early Start Program for incoming first time freshman. Responsibilities include application assistance with the Global Database, registration into the appropriate level English/math courses, phone calls to incoming students, and assisting with any other questions regarding Early Start.
  • Participate and assist with on campus events including New Student Orientation, Preview Day, and Warrior Welcome, provide administrative support for Early Start.
  • Assist with coordination of late applications, including but not limited to matriculating, term activating, withdrawing, and reinstating students, ensuring all requirements are being met including enrollment requirements, resolving issues as they occur.
  • Monitor and assist with PeopleSoft data entry, ensuring a seamless workflow, help answer phones and serve as back up as needed to ensure deadlines are being met.
  • Full-time position available on or after May 22, 2023 for Student Records. Under the general direction of the Assistant Director and day-to-day lead direction of the Admissions Analyst, this position is responsible for determining eligibility of first time freshman applicants and undergraduate transfer applicants, coordinate and work up supplemental transcripts and transfer evaluation of general education coursework for transfer students, and will assist to ensure that a degree audit is ready for all incoming new students. In addition, this position will assist with Enrollment Reporting Certification-Applicant data clean up, California Promise degree verification, New Student Orientation, and other projects, as appropriate. As needed, this position will provide support to the Evaluations Unit, and back up to the Admissions processing unit

  • Experience in higher education and some understanding of transfer course articulation from community colleges in service areas.
  • Knowledge of CSU eligibility requirements.
  • Ability to be thorough and accurate in comparing records.
  • Ability to multi-task, handle multiple deadlines and frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and evaluations.
  • Familiarity with residency determination for CSU Students for tuition purposes.
  • Ability to check complex records and detailed information for compliance with criteria.
  • Ability to interpret and apply written regulations.
