About the Organization: As a research and action organization, Center for Policing Equity (CPE) produces analyses identifying and reducing the causes of racial disparities in public safety. Using data-driven approaches to social justice, we use science to create levers for social, cultural, and policy change.


We are research scientists, race and equity experts, data virtuosos, and community trainers. We use data to build a more fair and just system. We partner with law enforcement and communities. Our aim is to bridge the divide of communication, generational mistrust, and suffering. But most of all, we are the path that science can forge towards public safety, community trust, and racial equity.


Position Overview:


The Center for Policing Equity is looking for a skilled Administration & Operations Manager with a passion for social justice issues. This role will support the Center’s Administration functions (e.g., Operations, Legal, IT, Events, and Facilities) and will report to the Vice President, Administration & Operations. The ideal candidate is proficient in problem-solving and independently prioritizing work, developing and executing project plans, anticipating the needs of the team, and demonstrating flexibility and drive to support the team.


The Manager will manage the day-to-day Administration functions and systems within the organization. Additionally, the role will serve as a thought partner to the Vice President, Administration & Operations and will evaluate and improve processes to support CPE’s rapid growth, proactively providing recommendations to optimize CPE’s systems where there are opportunities. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, mission-driven non-profit.


Responsibilities:


Administration & Operations:

  • Manage and act as administrator for employee travel platform
  • Support the project management and resolution of legal items
  • Analyze, improve, and codify processes to support CPE’s growth
  • Assist with developing and updating presentations, spreadsheets, and other documents as needed
  • Manage general procurement for the organization, including contract management for external vendors and service providers
  • Drive and execute on special projects that fall under Administration & Operation
  • Act as CPE’s primary point of contact for all incoming mail and correspondence
  • Serve as a thought partner to a team of Executive and Administrative Assistants, ensuring they are effectively supporting their respective programs and leaders
  • Act as liaison between CPE staff and all Administration procedures
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of training programs and professional development opportunities for the Administration vertical
  • Facilitate event and retreat planning; identify and manage relationships with vendors and manage cross team meetings and communications to staff, consultants, vendors, and other stakeholders

Collaboration with other functions:

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop and maintain standard operating procedures, policies, and best practices
  • Support the Vice President, Administration & Operations in optimizing cross-functional processes with Finance and Talent & Culture (e.g., optimizing employee onboarding, travel and reimbursements processing, etc.)
  • Support the IT Director in IT initiatives as needed


Job Requirements/Qualifications:


  • Passionate about CPE’s mission
  • Experience managing and developing teams
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • Ability to work independently, translating high-level goals into executional plans
  • Experience planning, producing and managing events; strong preference for individuals who have experience in fundraising event design
  • Experience analyzing large data sets and summarizing key takeaways
  • Superior attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proactive in surfacing problems and finding solutions
  • Other Relevant Qualifications (desired, but not required):
  • Proficiency with Asana, Slab, Zoom, and Slack
  • 5+ years of experience in administration and operations management, preferably within a non-profit organization


Compensation:


Range: $83,000 - $97,000 USD. The base salary for this position will vary based on place of residence and job-related criteria including relevant skills, qualifications and experience, among other factors.
