The Home Energy Solutions Account Manager Position


Sunnova Energy is looking for a Home Energy Solutions AM to develop dealer/contractor relationships and manage the accounts once onboarded across the US. The position leads our team to have successful relationships with our dealers and manages the process from initial meeting with the dealer, through the onboarding process and helps manage the accounts on an ongoing basis. The AM will work within Sunnova to collect all required data from the prospective customer and manage the internal process of creating and setting up the account within our environment. As the primary point of contact for their dealers, this person must be detail oriented and understand the intricate workings of the various Sunnova systems used to enable the dealer to sell Home Energy Solutions products. This position requires Business Development passion, detailed understanding of Sunnova’s software platform, management of internal business processes and stakeholders, and excellent communication skills and a “customer first” attitude. Home Energy Solutions AM Responsibilities


  • Advises dealers on sound business practices, such as maintaining financial statements, working capital management, and SG & A planning
  • Monitors progression of systems and troubleshoots issues; intervenes and drives results through influencing dealer behaviors
  • Delivers training and effective coaching to Dealer Sales, Operations and Executive leadership to relentlessly develop quality sales and customer service professionals
  • Identifies, researches, and resolves dealer issues using analytical skills and Salesforce Client Relationship Management
  • Develops Business Development plans to increase Sunnova’s services to new dealers in the US
  • Expertise in HVAC, plumbing, home improvement, generator and contractor dealer management and development. HVAC and plumbing dealer management preferred
  • Actively prospect for dealers in the Home Energy Solutions product suite
  • Drives our dealers through the onboarding process and makes sure the dealers are business ready after the onboarding process through training


Minimum Requirements


  • 2+ years of routine use of Excel for analysis, and graphically communicating insights regarding data
  • 5+ years’ experience in sales, account management, or related role
  • Bachelor’s degree with some quantitative studies; Business, Marketing, or Finance preferred


Preferred Qualifications


  • Business Development experience
  • Salesforce software experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience in HVAC, home improvement, residential solar, contracting, or generator sales. HVAC and plumbing dealer management preferred


Additional Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities


  • Proven use of analytical skills with understanding of financial concepts (IRR, ROI, etc.)
  • Team player that behaves ethically, with highest degree of integrity at all times
  • Very strong organization and communication (both verbal and written) skills
  • Ability to adapt and work in an open, fast-paced and collaborative environment, both in-office and remotely required
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to create relationships with outside partners to effectively influence behavior required
  • Ability to make insightful and relevant recommendations based on findings from data analytics; capable to gain command of data regarding assigned partners and workflow
  • Strong computer skills; including Microsoft, Office Suite
