Job Summary


The Academic Success Coordinator will play a vital role in promoting student success by providing comprehensive academic support services and coordinating initiatives that enhance student learning, engagement, and retention. This includes support for advising, tutoring, academic workshop implementation, testing and retention, as needed. The coordinator will assist Director with evaluation metrics and reporting.


Essential Duties And Responsibilities


  • Collaborate with offices of Registration and Records, Financial Aid, Student Life, Student Health and Wellness, Admissions, and academic programs as needed.
  • Support and partner with Academic Program Coordinators for test proctoring and assessment
  • Assist Director with evaluation and survey collection and student retention efforts in the Student Academic Success unit
  • Assist with following up on student requests and updating key materials for Student Academic Success unit.
  • Assist Student Academic Success team with all aspects of workshop planning and logistics
  • Support a highly diverse student population in equity-focused health sciences programs through the utilization of culturally sensitive coaching and mentoring techniques aimed at developing students' problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications/Requirements


EDUCATION:


  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree is required.


Experience


  • Experience in academic support programs, knowledge of CDU policies and procedures, and data monitoring and tracking preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Student Affairs or Student Services unit is required.


Knowledge/Ability/Skills


  • Understanding of higher education processes and ability to quickly learn complex and changing policies and procedures
  • Organizational skills and experience implementing initiatives in a team environment
  • Strong people skills with diverse groups of individuals at all organizational levels
  • Microsoft Office Suite applications knowledge, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent customer relation skills
  • Ability to perform duties in a timely manner and to prioritize duties when faced with interruptions, distractions, and fluctuating workload
  • Commitment to student success and the ability to demonstrate tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to address student needs.


Complexity


  • The ability to perform highly detailed work with sustained attention and care while providing/obtaining information on numerous inquiries is paramount to success in this position.

  • Occasional stooping. Frequent standing. Constant walking, sitting, climbing, reaching high/low levels, finger movement, feeling, speaking clearly, hearing conversationally, and seeing far and near.

Hourly Rate Range: $24.03 - $26.44/hour
