2-5 years relevant customer service or client account management experience, preferably in a B2B service environment

Supports Fleet Manager in tactical duties such as maintaining accurate inventories of vehicles, equipment, and titles as liaison to Element FPS.

Authorizes repair or maintenance of vehicles following accidents and works with the Department finance staff on vehicles insurance issues.

Manage resources in an effective and profitable manner to prepare, start, execute and complete the work effectively.

Control and monitor the successful and efficient function of PMT FMS.

Establish second line of responsibility to take care of PMT FMS in case brain drain.

Ability to plan the schedule, preventive and corrective maintenance of all the equipment in the fleet.

Direct activities related to dispatch, routing, and tracking of plant equipment and vehicles.

Deputy Fleet Manager, Fleet Business Specialist, Fleet Safety Specialist, Office Coordinator

Supervises staff, including selecting or recommending selection, training, assigning, and evaluating work, counseling, disciplining, and terminating or recommending termination.

Interacts with customers to ensure the fleet operations are meeting their needs.

Develop and implement fleet management policies and procedures, including vehicle utilization, fuel management, and driver safety programs.

Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date fleet management records and reports, including vehicle inventory, maintenance schedules, and fuel usage.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and fleet management software.

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or related field.

The Fleet Manager works closely with the Superintendent Engineer on daily operational aspects.

Manages and assign duties to the Assistant Fleet Manager (where applicable).

Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of

The functions performed by the Fleet Manager may include the following:

Establish and monitor purchasing, operational and replacement strategies, and practices for the most cost-effective operation

Develop and implement training modules for vehicles and equipment use and care

Experience in working and or managing a GSA Fleet.

Experience creating and establishing fleet policies and procedures, from vehicle assignment to replacement cycling, to accident reporting.

Experience in pricing, and purchase or lease vehicles, contracting parts, maintenance, and repair services.

Skill in communication and problem resolution.

This position reports to the Site Property Manager.

Ability to obtain and maintain the Illinois Class A/B/C Operator license and complete training as required by the State Fire Marshall.
