Job Title: Fleet Manager
JOB SUMMARY
The Fleet Manager is responsible in whole for managing regional Fleet operations to meet regional goals and objectives. The Fleet Manager’s primary responsibility is to understand and effectively communicate the strategic goals of the Company and Organization and provide direction and support to their teams to ensure success. Managers will exercise excellent business acumen and fiscal controls. Responsible to build and maintain positive, open relationships with direct reports, leadership, and midlevel management of the organizations Fleet supports. Fleet Manger is accountable to the Fleet Director. Travel required, limited to 20%.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand Business Partner challenges and develop solutions that best benefit the Company
- Represent the Company in grievance discussions
- Monitor and coach Fleet Supervisor performance to achieve targets
- Recognize and reward extraordinary work
- Effectively communicate Fleet goals to the Fleet team and Business Partner
- Monitor and coach their team’s purchase decisions to achieve budget compliance
- Actively support Fleet Supervisor career development
- Manage direct report attendance program
- Develop and maintain open lines of communication with the Business Partner
- Foster a strong culture of inclusivity, exhibit zero tolerance for anything less
- Exhibit, support, and ensure that a culture of safety is prominent at local and regional levels
REQUIREMENTS
- Computer literacy must include, but is not limited to: email and word processing; understand and manipulate data/spreadsheets; ability to become proficient with non-standard computer programs
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Database query (preferred)
- Ability to work nights and weekends as required by the needs of the business
- Must possess excellent reasoning and decision-making skills

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- 5-years minimum experience in Fleet Maintenance (required)
- Experience in managing work groups that are covered by a collective bargaining agreement (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Administration, or equivalent experience
