The Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department (OTRD) is seeking a full-time Fleet Manager in Oklahoma City, OK. The Fleet Manager is responsible for planning, directing, managing, coordinating, and supervising the programs for acquisition, assignment, utilization, maintenance, repair, replacement and disposal of fleet vehicles and equipment.


The Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department’s mission is to advance the exceptional quality of life in Oklahoma by preserving, maintaining, and promoting our natural assets and cultural amenities.


OTRD provides matching contributions to employees’ retirement plans, 11 holidays, 15 days of annual, and 15 days of sick leave per year. OTRD also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a benefit allowance to offset the cost of insurance premiums for employees and their eligible dependents. The annual salary for this position will be based on education and experience of the selected candidate.



Typical Functions


The functions performed by the Fleet Manager may include the following:


  • Maintain detailed records of vehicle servicing and inspection
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal, State & Local laws and regulations related to vehicle and mobile equipment use and care
  • Establish and monitor purchasing, operational and replacement strategies, and practices for the most cost-effective operation
  • Develop and administer vehicle/equipment asset management processes from procurement to disposition
  • Register and license all vehicles
  • Develop and implement training modules for vehicles and equipment use and care
  • Other related duties as assigned


Education And Experience


Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (in logistics, accounting, or related field); PLUS at least one year of work experience as a Fleet Manager or similar role
  • OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • This position may require occasional travel.
