Coordinates and manages the FuelSQC testing required to maintain compliance with EPA required testing.

A minimum of five years of job-related experience required

Will be responsible for, and must demonstrate training, experience, and aptitude in the following areas:

Mentoring, leadership, and professional development of laboratory staff.

Designing, quoting, and managing research projects and customized testing programs.

Providing tier 1 laboratory equipment maintenance and repair.

Knowledge and skill sufficient to use and maintain laboratory instrumentation;

Minimum education requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:

At least one year of supervisory experience preferred;

Knowledge of related disciplines to integrate and correlate test results with other laboratory data and clinical information;

Must be able to perform CPR and update certification as needed;

Ability to prioritize and manage numerous tasks at one time;

Maintains inventory control of section materials and supplies, request replenishment, maintains knowledge of expiration dates and follows up effectively.

Responsible for the efficient operations of the collection staff; supervises the collection staff.

Develops more effective departmental systems with views toward improving the quality of work and expediting the completion of assigned department activities.

Completes time and attendance payroll for subordinates.

Provides departmental orientation to new employees.

Supervises and trains new collection staff employees.

Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, budgets, and schedules.

Ensure that environmental requirements are met at the federal, state, and local government levels.

General knowledge of regulations. Qualified as a CLIA high complexity general supervisor and CLIA moderate complexity laboratory director.

Assigned as the CLIA laboratory director for select satellite locations. Ensures laboratory compliance with CLIA regulations.

Facilitate effective communication across internal departments by trending and reporting data.

Ensure the lab establishes and maintains a calibration program for testing equipment that affects quality results.

Oversees daily operations of MLT/MT/MLS within Core Lab (Chemistry, Hematology and Urinalysis.

Follows established procedures and evaluates and solves problems related to collection and processing of samples for analysis

Evaluates new techniques and procedures, performs evaluation and method validation

Writes and revises technical procedures

Creates staff schedules, organizes workloads and assigns duties to staff, including securing sufficient coverage

Participates in hiring, evaluation and training of new employees

Oversee psychometrists at all levels including hiring, training, supervision, reviewing and monitoring quality of performance.

Oversee daily assignments to psychometrists, and practicum students: test patients, raining, and related duties.

Function as a liaison between faculty and support staff, explaining departmental policies and procedures, resolving problems, and coordinating activities.

Knowledge of biology, chemistry, mathematics, documentation, and records management.

Data utilization, complex problem solving, critical thinking, resource management, and writing skills.

Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis

Develop and perform complex lab research procedures requiring specialized experience in several areas of lab investigation.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management or business related field

Works with Finance to resolve any delays or issues related to purchasing transactions.

Minimum 3 years of leadership or supervisor experience

Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficient computer literacy, including Lab Management Systems.

Advanced Degree in Chemistry or related field preferred, or High School diploma with experience in lab environment and leading people.

Visible felt leadership – spend ~90% on the field interacting with team.

Supervise day-to-day safe operation of the Analytical Lab with a focus on quality, and equipment health.

Adequate communication with on-coming crew and Supervisor

Fill in for Analytical Lab General Foreperson as needed.

Effectively manage change, facilitate innovation and foster teambuilding to provide the highest quality and most cost effective laboratory product possible.

Resolves client inquiries and operational issues in a timely manner by consulting with the Manager.

Requires at minimum an Associate degree and certification as a Medical Lab Technician

Prior supervisor experience managing several direct reports preferred

Experience in a high volume working environment

Knowledge of quality assurance practices and procedures

Leadership potential with ability to move to higher management position.

Interpret and communicate corporate microbiological program requirements to local teams. Act as resident subject matter expert for microbiology.

Support supplier certification process to reduce level of in-plant micro testing.

Approve microbiology documentation authorizing product release (data review and approval, and entry into LIMs and/or SAP).

Ensure failure investigations and OOS results are properly documented.

Provide support to plant in resolving nonconformance issues and identify corrective and preventive actions.

Three years' technical experience in phlebotomy or other laboratory setting

Oversees day-to-day workflow by preparing staffing schedule and prioritizing work.

Supervises operations by ensuring staff compliance with policies and procedures.

Analyzes and resolves or assists workers in solving work problems.

May perform duties as a phlebotomist or other support function.

Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

Required to use (a) personal protective equipment, (b) engineering controls and/or (c) work practice controls as directed by management.

Adheres to all established CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA and laboratory safety requirements.

Comprehensive theoretical and operational job knowledge in designated specialty required.

Knowledge of organizational/departmental policies and procedures.

Proven leadership and problem-solving skills.

Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with employees, co-workers and clients.
