Lab Assistant Supervisor Jobs

Under general direction, is responsible for collecting appropriate blood specimens from inpatients, outpatients, and off-campus patients in a timely manner. In addition, supports the laboratory staff by receiving and directing all telephone and mail communications to appropriate departments or personnel. Receives and distributes specimens in accordance with MGH and Laboratory policies and procedures as well as CAP and federal/state regulations. Maintains established processes for record retention and retrieval and distribution of test results. Registers patients following established policies.
Minimum Education Requirement: High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Experience Requirement: None required; On-the-job training.
Minimum License Requirement: Phlebotomy certificate preferred. WV State license required within probationary period.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions: Light Work- Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to10 lbs with a maximum lifting of 25 lbs.
